I couldn’t really tell about the day itself. I only saw The Derby, on a television with the sound down in a hospital cafe.
On the face of it, the action should have been stronger with the Coronation Cup and another Group race and only one 5f handicap this year.
Aside from the weather which couldn’t be helped, why was the day still dismal?
