Nice tale.
A couple I know have been regular visitors to the TT on their lovingly maintained ’80s Ducati and always participate in ‘mad Sunday’, invidually and as rider and pillion. Hubby had a lowish-speed tumble one year but not much harm done other than a torn Belstaff and sprained shoulder. As far as I know they haven’t been across for a few years now: in their 60s, so perhaps the wisdom of advancing years has kicked in
