I don’t believe Iran is targeting civilians. What they are trying to do is to destroy bases that can be used to attack them.
If I were PM, I would make it clear to Iran through diplomatic channels that we, as a country, do NOT support illegal wars such as this one. Trump knows this (as Starner has correctly stated this publicly). I would tell Iran not to attack British bases and confirm our right to defend British citizens, which means defending our bases. As Starmer has said (I support what he said) we will NOT attack Iran, but we will defend ourselves. Therefore, I would not send a warship into the Gulf as this would indicate we are on Trumps side, which we are not.
We have to be wary of believing US propaganda which is seemingly being used to drag us into war. Thankfully Starmer has more sense than Farage (up Trunp’s backside) et al and will play it sensibly. By the way, if we make it clear we are not entering this unconstitutional war, our ships will be able to sail through the straight, as is the case with Indian ships.
We had a sensible Labour government in the past, which saved thousands of lives by not attacking Vietnam. We are lucky to have one now.
