I agree.The first time it happened was when Willsford ran a race and we were told he was going to be retired afterwards. I can still picture him pulling up. Then Rust Never Sleeps trainer was interviewed prior to the National and said all he wanted was for him to be back in his stable that evening munching an apple. There was another horse that broke a fetlock in his much publicised last race; Eric’s Charm I think. My heart sinks when I know it’s a last race before retirement.
