I was going to mention the environment. As anyone who watches the news will know, it’s been unusually stormy here in the westcountry. There was little respite between the two most recent storms and there’s another rain warning tomorrow, with the ground already saturated of course.
For obvious reasons places on the coast have been particularly affected so of course everyone is demanding more investment in flood defences etc. Perfectly reasonable but who is going to pay for it? And try suggesting that everyone should try polluting the environment a bit less and you get accused of being a net zero zealot.
Labour has been accused of jeaporsiding the future of farming through taxes. Environmental breakdown will do more damage to farming than any government could ever dream of but they’re queuing up to vote for parties that will only make it worse.
