Tranmere Rovers vs Manchester United – Sunday 2pm
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could face his biggest embarrassment yet as Manchester United boss if his side fail to beat Tranmere Rovers on Sunday.
An extra time victory over Watford during the week earned Rovers this tie and I don’t think it’s unrealistic that they claim another Premier League scalp given United’s poor form and lack of goal threat without the injured Marcus Rashford.
It may prove to be a silly punt. After all, Tranmere are in League One for a reason and United, as bad as they have been this season, are still fifth in the Premier League.
But at the prices I think it’s worth having a look a gamble on the underdogs.
I like the 17/4 for a draw which would earn the hosts a money-spinning replay at Old Trafford wile it’s 9/4 for the double chance of Tranmere/draw.
Shrewsbury Town vs Liverpool – Sunday 5pm
Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly heavily rotate his Liverpool team for this game, but still expect them to cruise to victory.
Fringe players the quality of Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Adam Lallana will be out to prove they can replace Sadio Mane should the Senegalese winger face a spell out with injury.
This will be a great occasion for Shrewsbury to go up against the best team in Europe, but they will struggle to get much joy from Liverpool’s miserly back line.
With another league game coming up against West Ham on Wednesday, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino are expected to be among those rested.
That will open the door for Origi who appeals at odds of 4/1 to score first.
Raul Jimenez’s equaliser on Thursday was the first goal the Reds had conceded in over a month and they are 7/5 to win with another clean sheet.
