1: Dante Festival

Location – York

Date – May 15th – May 17th

Held on the Knavesmire, the festival’s main attraction is the Betfred Dante Stakes, which takes place on the second day. Day one hosts the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes and the winners of these two races are favourites for the Classics.


2: Al Sheqab Lockinge Stakes Day

Location – Newbury

Date – May 18th

Even though it is a one-day event, the Al Sheqab Lockinge Stakes Day is the highlight of the Newbury’s Flat season. Fans from all over the world attend every year and millions of fans stream this horse racing event online. It features the Group 1 Lickinge Stakes, which is run over 1 mile, and part of the QIPCO British Champion Series, as well as the London Gold Cup.


3: Community Day

Location – Newbury

Date – May 24th

Community Day features the Betfred Temple Stakes, which is the opening sprint event of the QIPCO British Champions. The leading horses usually go on to the second part of the Champions’ series, the Kind’s Stand Stakes, held in June.


4: Investec Derby Festival

Location – Epsom Downs

Date – May 31st – June 1st

5: Royal Ascot

Location – Ascot 

Date – June 18th – June 22nd

 The 5-day event at Ascot is the crown jewel of the English Flat summer season. It offers 15 Group races and at least one Group 1 event every single day. The highlights of the Royal Ascot are the Gold Cup, held on day three, as well as the St. James’ Palace Stakes, Queen Anne Stakes, Prince of Wales’s Stakes, Coronation Stakes and Golden Jubilee Stakes, which focus on speed.


6: Northumberland Plate Festival

Location – Newcastle

Date – June 27th – June 29th

Location – Ascot 

Date – June 18th – June 22nd

 The main event of the July Festival is the six-furlong Darley July Cup, which is one of the biggest sprint events in European horseracing. Other events include the Arqana Princess of Wales’s Stakes and the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes for fillies.
