David Cormack’s Saturday Selections – September 26th

Hi everyone – a nice winner last Saturday steadied the ship after a disappointing couple of weeks. keeps us ahead on the year and plenty of time left to build further.

Some good racing at Newmarket tomorrow and ONTARIO (100/30 generally) looks the bet in the Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket (1.50 off time). Last time out he ran a great race to be a close third in a group 2 at the Curragh. the runner up, Cadillac, only beat him half a length and that one has gone on to frank the form in fine style and marked himself a leading 2,000 Guineas contender. There is every chance that Ontario can continue improving and the 100/30 looks generous for a progressive, well bred colt from this stable, O’Brien having won this the last two years and fielded five of the six placed horses in that period.

In the Cambridgeshire TEMPUS (13/2 Bet365, BetVictor) could be a good thing. This Kingman half brother to the very useful Time Test won with such authority at ascot last time that a 4lb penalty looks unlikely to stop him playing a leading role here. Several others catch the eye as notably the three year old pair Ilaraab and Al Rufaa, but Tempus looks a solid proposition at the 13/2 mark.

Have a great weekend,

David
