David Cormack’s Saturday Selections – October 24th

The flat turf season is winding down but there is still life in it with the Group One Vertem Futurity at Doncaster tomorrow.

I’ll be watching that race eagerly but I won’t be betting on it but I will be having an interest at  Doncaster later in the card when TOMFRE (8/1 bet365) runs in the 4.05.

The Ralph Beckett trained three year old has to carry a fair burden but really relished the heavy ground last time at Leicester, putting up what was arguably a career best effort. That was his third attempt on ground slower than good to soft and he’s now won two of the three. He’s up 4lbs for that win but such was the way he handled the conditions last time I am happy that he has a fair chance to defy that increase and he looks good value at 8/1.

For the second bet I am looking in the following race (4.40) where RIGHT ACTION (11/1 bet365) looks on a winning mark. His record off this mark of 75 is 22131. He handles soft ground and although only 9th of 12 last time wasn’t beaten far after being held up. There is every chance he’ll run a big race and the 11/1 looks well worth a shot.

Have a great weekend,

David
