Three winning/profitable Saturdays in the last four and well ahead on the year overall, it was good to see Brilliant Light get up by a narrow margin last Saturday to keep our good recent form going. Dream World looked like she was going to give us a double but had to make do with second. Let’s hope for another good day tomorrow when we have two more to play on.
It looks a tough day overall tomorrow with no real stand-out races. I do think there are a couple worth betting on however and the first runs at Windsor in the 2.10. ALWAYS FEARLESS (6/1 bet365, SkyBet and William Hill) returned in June at Doncaster, having been gelded over the winter, and ran encouragingly enough to suggest more is to come. He stumbled slightly at the start that day and was rushed up a bit to take a prominent position. He feel back a bit two and a half out and was momentarily pulled back when squeezed for room. He wasn’t given a hard time but ran on gamely enough towards the end and I think we’ll see an improved effort from him here.
Up at Redcar in the 4.40 JILL ROSE (6/1 generally) will have to do without the services of Ben Curtis who has been stood down following a Covid19 rule contravention at Newmarket earlier tonight. His booking may have been reasonably significant and the filly looks extremely well suited by 6 furlongs and easy ground (1st and 2nd on her two starts in such conditions). A mark of 58 is reasonable (won by 3 lengths off 56 a year ago at Thirsk over this trip and similar ground). Not normally my kind of race but she looks likely to run really well and is well worth an interest.
Have a good weekend all,
