A big weekend for racing as Enable strives to make history in Paris. Her task has been made significantly easier following the defection of Love from the race but she won’t necessarily have things all her own way and it’ll be a fascinating and, potentially, historic event.
Back on this side of the channel BE MORE (13/2 generally) will be suited by the soft at Newmarket in the 2.10. She has a perfect record of three wins from three runs on the surface and has won at Newmarket previously also. She has to bounce back from a couple of slightly disappointing efforts the last twice but is fair value to do that at 13/2. If she does she is arguably the form pick and is proven on track and conditions.
Second bet of the day is on the same card in the 4.30 where NEHALL (11/2 Betfair Sport, Paddy Power, William Hill) looks the one to be on. She has had just two turf starts and was unplaced in both but was never really put into the race to any great effect on her last turf outing (held well up, nearest finish) at Sandown in early August. She has won well enough on her only start since at Kempton on the all weather and is well worth another go on the grass. Soft ground should suit on breeding and she still has untapped potential. Biggest danger may be fellow three year old One Small Step on whom Brian Meehan has jocked up Ryan Moore who was on board when she won on her second start earlier this summer.
Some great racing in France tomorrow and Sunday so stay in out of the rain and enjoy the weekend.
