The jumps season got into a proper gallop last weekend at Cheltenham and kicks on with some good heats at both Ascot and Wetherby.
For the first bet of the day I am siding with Nigel Twiston Davies’ SUPER SIX (7/2 generally) in the 3.55 at Ascot. he did well in bumpers, winning twice before progressing again to finish a good fifth in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham festival. He made a highly encouraging start over hurdles, rallying late to dead heat at Perth and can go on again here. That hurdling experience should stand him in good stead against a few promising types making their debuts and I think he should be a bit shorter than 7/2. Mister Watson could be a danger at a bigger price.
It’s back to the flat for the second bet, FARHH TO SHY (100/30 generally) in the 4.43 at Newmarket. This doesn’t look particularly competitive with not many having a recent win in the formbook. Farhh To Shy does have that, winning well at Yarmouth at the end of August. She was just headed at the post last time, when running here over tomorrow’s trip, and I think she has a great chance. Looks overpriced at 100/30.
Have a great weekend
