Hi everyone – another week of exciting racing news with Ascot’s Royal meeting extending to 7 races a day (not sure they needed to really, 6 was perfect as far as I was concerned) and Grand National winning jockey David Mullins retiring. I always enjoyed watching David ride, like many of his fellow jockeys in Ireland, he was a natural horseman. I wish him a long and fruitful career in the industry.
Tomorrow I have only the one bet. DASHEL DRASHER (Ascot 3.00) has had only 5 chase runs and has finished in the first three in 4 of them (2 wins). He was only beaten a couple of lengths (winner value for more admittedly) by Champ on his chasing debut and has won two of his three starts over the bigger obstacles since with his sole defeat at the hands of Master Tommytucker and Good Boy Bobby on this season’s debut. He came on from that next time when beating Itchy Feet next time and on his handicap debut may be underestimated even off a mark of 152. I certainly think he is underestimated in the market at 7/1 (paddy power and Betfair Sport) and he is worth an interest on a tricky looking day.
