Sorry, I wasn’t able to post the article last night as usual due to personal commitments. Back to normal next week.
Only one today on what looks a tricky enough punting card. For the selection we go to Newbury and the 4.10 where HIGHEST SUN (3/1 Bet365, Paddy Power, William Hill) needs to put a disappointing run last time behind him. If he does that he would be very hard to beat and I think the possibility of him doing that is fair so the price looks attractive.
He’d started his chasing career on a very optimistic note, only beaten just under 5 lengths behind Nicky Henderson’s star Champ here in November. Next time up he confirmed the promise of that run in a Novice Handicap Chase, again runnign into a useful sort of Henderson’s in Pym (won his only start since). The useful Deise Aba was back in fourth and he too has franked teh form, winnign twice in two runs since.
On that evidence alone Highest Sun would be a very warm favourite here but he blotted his copybook next time at Warwick, jumping poorly and running listlessly behind Two For Gold. He needs to put that run behind him but I think the price more than reflects the questions surrounding him and at 3/1 he rates as a bet for me.
Have a great weekend.
