David Cormack’s Saturday Selection – 6th February

Hi everyone – January ended up extremely profitable, here’s hoping February can deliver a similar result for us.

Some good racing tomorrow at Leopardstown, Sandown and up here, near home, for me at least, at Musselburgh.

It is at Musselburgh that our selection runs. In the 1.29 race OSCAR CEREMONY (100/30 bet365, BetVictor) looks well worthy of a bet. In a Veteran’Chase where I think only a few have a chance of winning this Brian Ellison trained 10 year old has plenty in his favour.

He’s run here twice, winning and finishing second. The ground will not inconvenience him and Brian Ellison has coached him to his best ever effort on only his second run for the stable last time out. He has flourished this last couple of seasons after taking time to come to himself, steadily progressing under previous handler Stef Keniry. I think he looks a decent bet at the prices.

There is some fascinating action over at Leopardstown on day one of the Dublin Racing Festival but I can’t pick out any value in what are relatively well established markets and I cannot find any standouts at sandown so it is to Oscar Ceremony we look to get us off to a good start this month.

Have a great weekend,

David
