2019 Grand National on the horizon

April is about a month away meaning that the Grand National, one of the most important events in the horseracing calendar, is just around the corner. Known for its intriguing surprises, this event is not only a favorite for entertainment seeking fans but also pundits. For the last one hundred years, there have been five victories from horses that had been trading at 100/1 at the Aintree racecourse. This year’s festival is also promising to be one full of surprises given the entries. Since Red Rum registered three back-to-back victories in 1973 and 1974, no other runner has been able to achieve that feat. Again, since the 1970s, no top weight horse has ever been able to register a victory.

This year, Tiger Roll, who emerged top in last year’s event, is seeking a second successive victory to join Red Rum in the records of the Grand National. Trained by Gordon Elliot, the horse which carries 11st1lb is in better shape and it will not be much surprising to see him top the race. Tiger Roll is also expected to be one of the contenders in the 2019 Cheltenham Festival and his trainer is 100% confident in his capabilities. Again, the 2019 Randox Health Grand National top weight Bristol de Mai (11st10lb) is expected to bid to become the first horse to ever achieve what Red Rum did in the 70s. The horse is among nine other entries in the competition that have passed through the hands of Twiston-Davies who boasts of two wins in the festival, one in 1998 and the other 2002. Bristol de Mai has several titles to his name including 4 unbeaten starts at Merseyside and it will be interesting to see how he will fair at the Aintree racecourse.

Hello, investor! If you are looking for some wagering tips to make the most out of this event, you are completely in the right place. As a punter, it is your responsibility to ensure you take advantage of the Grand National free bets. Some of the bookies that already have or have promised to give this offer include Coral, WilliamHill, BetBright, Betfair, and Ladbroke.  Only 29% of all Grand National winners have taken the top position without being placed in the race during the previous year. It is therefore wise to consider betting on horses that have run in previous races such as Tiger Roll trading at 20/1 with Paddy Power. Another horse leading the market this year is Elegant Escape with an odd of 20/1 at Paddy Power as well. Vintage clouds, trained by S. Smith is also a wise investment and for the best odd, you can visit Ladbrokes which is offering a 25/1 return. Another horse that is seemingly underrated is Minella Rocco, whose odds are currently around 25/1 with most bookies. The horse has a lot to prove given the fact that he has not been able to win any race in the last three years.

However, it is important to note that the current odds are not fixed. As the event approaches, there will be some changes as the bookies deem fit and thus to make the most of the tips above, the sooner you place a stake the better. The festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6th April and although it may seem far away, most of the odds provided by the bookmakers will experience a decline and thus an early punt is not such a bad idea. The event is estimated to attract the attention of around ten million people throughout the world and even if you are not a fan of the races, you can join the millions as an investor.
