One team I want to be with at the moment is Charlton. They travel to Wolves on Sat and I think they will get something out of the game. Draw/Charlton doesn’t interest me at evens though. 9’s in the win and BTTS market is much more up my street

Normally I would back the straight away win but this is more than double the 19/5 available and with early season inconsistencies around I can half my stake and take my chances.

Charlton win and BTTS – 9/1 Boyles

Everton have lined up quite strong and I’d expect them to come through.

Hope so Nathan – Cheeky double
    11/4 Toffees and BTTS
    4/5 Bruge v Man U BTTS

Laddies returns 5.75/1 Small stakes just to keep an interest

More Cap One carnage last night – QPR were a loser for me denying my treble. Thankfully Walsalls late winner saved the day and ended the evening in front. Things could have even been better if Dwight Gayles last minute shot did not cannon of the bar – that would have secured my late suicide double. Bloomin Eagles went on to trash Shrews in extra time.

Can’t really find an angle on tonights sole game – why do they play 15 odd games one night and 1 on the Wed? Similar situation to racing on some Saturdays, 2 or 3 good quality meetings with a load of Class 5/6 on the Sunday.

Looking ahead to weekend to finish the month in front – already eyeing up Plymouth but will be looking at the Win and BTTS market in other divisions too. Newcastle at home to Arsenal 10’s look interesting – should drift a bit as well as punters drop Arsenal into the their accas.

Will have another look at tonight – my punting in the Champions league is dreadful so I tend to leave alone. But with so little action may have a look. May double BTTS in the ManU game with an Everton win and BTTS just for a little interest. Dependant on Evertons XI the 10’s on Barnsley to win and BTTS doesn’t look too shabby either

Placed a silly late double after getting team news.

    Palace v Shrewsbury Eagles 2/5
Preston v Watford. Hornets make 11changes. Preston 7/5

So there I am a fountain of football knowledge, an encyclopedia of football stats and info.

Sky Sports news annouce Tony Pulis is taking thia seriously with 3 changes.

Errrrh…..Wasp…..he is the baggies manager now not Palace.

Remembered seconds after placing bet

After saying I am sticking to doubles I have foolishly taken on a treble

I like the look of Walsall v Brighton game. Both started strongly but Im taking the Saddlers to take this. They are going with a full strength side and the local Brighton rag has indicated the Seagulls boss may make changes. I have also taken the 5’s on Walsall on the win and BTTS market Walsall 15/8

Couldn’t split the other 2 selections so have gone for both

QPR v Carlisle – The R’s are stronger at home and should have too much for Carlisle whatever side they put out. Carlisle start indicates a fight to stay in the football league QPR 4/9

Hull V Rochdale – Hull keep drifting but Im going to oppose the market as the tigers are strong at home and Dale are without one of their leading strikers Hull 4/5

    Treble pays around 13/2

Welcome back Wasp, I think the home wins will soon pick up.
Swansea disappointed at the weekend with a draw at ‘no defence’ Sunderland but the odds of finishing in the top ten at 4/5 was a little eye catching, they will certainly give it a good bash and have the firepower with the two lads up top likely to cause teams havoc and Jonjo Shelvey has emerged into a decent player with confidence and a swagger about him, this is a big season for him now established he needs to step up and put his foot down and he has stood out in the games so far as being very capable of doing so. I read on another forum he is 8/1 to make the Euro 2016 Finals squad which looks a decent chance at the odds if he can have a good season and better odds than James Milner 1/6, Fabian Delph and Jack Wilshere 4/11 who will more likely to be sat in the nurse’s office for lumps of the season having his er, er, er lumps seen to.
If Hodgson can stay alive until the Euros he may just go for Jonjo a player I believe he signed for Liverpool during his short stint as boss there.

Jonjo Shelvey 8/1 £2.50 To make 23 man squad for Euro 2016

Hi Nathan – I’d imagine he would be taking at least 8-9 midfielders (10 maybe if he goes with 3 strikers). I’ll take a look at this market after working my way through tonights Cap One minefield!!!!

After nailing a couple of bets pre hols :yahoo: I’m around level for the season – I have never been up in Aug before and have a Cap Cup minefield to negotiate through and a start of a season that is more unpredictable than normal!

Initial observation is the lack of home wins across the leagues most highlighted by the prem

Prem – 6 home wins only this season. I would expect this to correct itself in time but will steer clear of most games in this division for now

Home wins is around 25% in the other leagues so the value is in draw/away win market at the moment. However with all betting patterns this can change at anytime

Off to find a nice little double in the Cap One Cup tonight

Portsmouth have been the curse of ante post punters (inc me) but I sense a resurgence and I want to keep them onside for now. They travel away to another one of my notebook entries of very early form of ones to watch for in Plymouth. However I sense goals and a win for Pompey something in the 2-3 region. Not going to take on the correct score market but do like the look of Pompey and BTTS.

11/2 is good enough for me

Want to keep the Gills onside for the time being. They are at P Vale on Sat and 9/4 is a bit too short when I want to keep stakes small. Gills and BTTS score is available at 5’s and that’s good enough for me

Never seem to make any money at this time of year on football. I look at certain fancies but decide not to commit because of the unpredictable nature of results – this can sometimes cost me. I want to keep to doubles especially teams with solid home records. The problem is there are no records at the start of the season and we are looking towards historic form that has no relevance. There are some clubs that seem to continue to have good home records whatever the season and am taking two this weekend.

Am putting up an early double here as off to sunnier climes tomorrow

Ipswich v Sheff Wed 23/20. With the home side here and will continue to back tractor boys at home even though they have a tough game here.

Sheff Utd v Chesterfield 11/10 Home team here again. After being pounded last week the Blades are under pressure to bounce back. Chesterfield are a good side and will prove a tough nut to crack. However Adkins and his side have to win this after last week and am taking them to narrowly take this.

Small stakes again – returns just over 7/2 with BetV

I watched the first 25 minutes in case I won the double odds but turned it off after that, not because Bent hadn’t touched the ball and he was still in contention at 0-0 of netting the first goal but because the camera angle was horrific, my eyes still haven’t recovered this morning when I poured apple juice into my cereal and the milk into a glass. Goodness knows what I would be doing if I had watched the full game, I’d probably be blind.

Not aware of that market (25 mins), not been on my laddies account for a bit – certainly makes things a bit more interesting. No bets last night as had lost on My Titania over at Gowran. Should have taken the 18/5 on Pompey

Charlton travel to Derby on Sat and I have taken the 11/1 on the Addicks and BTTS – Charlton have started strongly and Derby have started a little bit sluggish. 6’s are freely available but I want to keep stakes low so have gambled on BTTS.

Charlton and Gillingham are my early teams to follow – though it is so early doors this can change quickly

I’ve just got off the phone to work and I’ve been given Swansea in the sweepstake on the handicap with +35, happy with that after their draw with Chelsea.

    Come on the Swans.

52-55 points will put them in the frame GL
