    Hi Hein :bye:
Been away a couple of days so just seen your post.

Get what you’re saying about William Haggas but having visited his yard just prior to him losing Sea Of Class and getting to meet the guy I have a lot of respect for his operation and what a sadness to lose a filly like herself. it was a just a personal choice and no way expect him to win and probably will be bottom of the pile as we all know Johnny G has it in the bag, but thought he was deserving of a mention here.

Simon Holt just a throw in, I don’t really mind who’s commentating as long as it’s not Derek Thompson.

I went to Meydan in March this year and it was an amazing experience and we stayed overnight at the hotel. Highly recommended along with a trip up the Burj Khalifa while you’re in Dubai. :good: Jac

Haven’t posted for a few days and just logged in and hardly recognised the site. It’s gone all wishy washy and small as Mike says it’s difficult to read and you can’t see the people’s Avatar’s at all until you come to a Thread like this where they are twice the size of normal.

Hope it’s going to revert back to the user friendly site that it used to be ASAP please….Jac :rose:

    NB:
Hitting the (Control and +) three times gets you to a readable font size Mike, barring that I’m off to Specsavers.

Wow..Waldkonig was seriously impressive and I completely missed him.
Looks like Johnny G has another Classic contender on his hands if this horse progresses through the winter and can’t wait to see him turn out at Newmarket around Craven time :good:

Thanks Hein for pinpointing that amazing run and best of luck…Jac :rose:

After reading more about the void race incident there seems to have been much confusion as to the waving of the yellow flag and with commentary continuing also the jockeys had a difficult call. In the light of that I have withdrawn my negative comment on them in my last post.

Lovely tribute from Venetia Williams today.

    Poor girl.
This has been the most awful weekend and it’s cast a shadow over racing and some good races.. but how can we celebrate a win when a much loved horse loses his/her life :-(

Agreed chestnut or even if he said ‘she suffered a serious injury and sadly had to be put to sleep’ would have been kinder and shown a bit of respect to connections.

Very sad day indeed losing Houblon Des Obeaux also. :-(

A big horse with a big heart giving his all along with the greats like Best Mate and Persian Punch he paid the final price in front of his adoring fans.
I can’t begin to understand how Venetia Williams and all who loved and cared for him are feeling tonight, I only know that he was an icon and will be sadly missed by all of us.

    RIP
    Houblon Des Obeaux

Run free with the greats tonight when you cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Just so so sad poor girl I can hardly bear to come here and see these names knowing we have lost another beautiful horse and know she was highly thought of and much loved.

RIP Lovely girl you just didn’t deserve this.
