Be fair I agree. Djakadam has been the most impressive of the ones you named, first with Don Cossack a close second. However I never considered Cue Card as a gold cup horse but he has been the most impressive 3 miler this year by far.

Which horses are ineligible to run?

Mullins has so many novice hurdlers, I think its folly to even try guess where they will go. We still haven’t seen half of the horses he will run in novice hurdles.

The triumph hurdle is an awful race most years. I don’t think the 2015 race was as bad as other years but the horses in the top few of the 2015 race are vastly overrated. Hargam ran well today in what was a weak race.But both he and peace and co were beaten by Sempre Medici, a decent horse but not in the top ten hurdlers that Mullins has. Top notch has been unable to beat some fairly average horses in Irving and Identity Thief who isn’t in the top ten of Irish trained 2-2.5 mile hurdlers. What we learned from the last two weeks is that the Triumph hurdle of 2015 was way over rated

Not a hope of Ricou replacing anyone. especially not Paul townend. Don’t read too much into this, he is with Mullins for a few weeks and will get a few spare rides for Mullins on busy days over Christmas
