Win: Panic Attack

Reserve: ThecompanysergeantI’m also of the opinion that Jonbon should be running over further. However, it’s likely to be pretty soft ground tomorrow. That will slow the tempo which usually causes him to belt a few and at 11/10, he’s worth backing.
This is looking like being a pretty underwhelming renewal of a race that is usually one of my favourites.
Celtic Dino’s early season target was the Welsh Champion Hurdle, which he won, for which he was duly punished by the handicapper. He’s good but not my type of price.
Mirabad looks a lurker if Skelton can improve him but the market move has beaten me to it.
I’ll chance Castle Carrock with Tom Cannon jocked up. Alan King has a good record in the race too.
Jurancon at 20s would be a hefty bet if he wasn’t also entered in the Greatwood over 2 miles. I thought this would be the season he’d go up in trip and this is seemingly Pipe’s favourite race given his record in it. If he gets pulled from the Greatwood I’ll pull the trigger but for now I’ll wait.
I’m having far fewer bets these days and even more so at bigger odds. However, Nocte Volatus has been winking at me all week and I’ve finally given in and backed him each way at 22/1.

Captain Butler

Gamesters Guy
Gidge
Grand Garcon
Kritpticjim
Laganhill
Saracen Beau
Upon TweedBig gamble on Newton Tornado is understandable. He should improve plenty for fences but he’s too short for me now.
The one I’ve gone with is Rightsotom each way at 20s. Tough ask on chasing debut but he’s a good horse on his day and hopefully the ground will remain lively enough for him.
I’ll be back with my usual list of under the radar novices and handicappers soon. The battle for the bottom is way more exciting than the top

As recently as Boxing Day last year Constitution Hill slapped Lossiemouth out of the Champion Hurdle picture. He’s still the one to beat and is a very backable price. That said, I’ve not put my money where my mouth is, yet.
The Fighting Fifth could be an all timer if Constitution Hill, Anzadam and the New Lion all turn up. Golden Ace maybe too. Let’s hope for plenty of rain between now and then.
Love that Winter Fog bet VtC, quality price.
This is my favourite flat race of the season and not just because it’s one of the last
.Fireblade looks overpriced at 40s so I’ve had a little tickle on him each way. I’ve also had a few quid on Mordor at 18s but I’ve done him win only.
Los Angeles is 40/1 and worth a punt each way at that price. He was a solid third last year and I’m not concerned about his recent unplaced runs given they’ve been preps for the main event.
My first visit to TRF for a while and this news has floored me. A wonderful little horse, right up there with my all time favourites. RIP Our Champ

I’ll take a chance on Alnayef each way at big odds. Just an inkling that this might have been the plan since stable debut with two quiet runs since.
I’m a jumps man and as such I’m always drawn to the better jumps horses in these races. East India Dock will do for me 13/2 on the nose.
