Chartered Town Planner. My interest in horse racing dates from childhood. Some views: Good jockeys are important, but their role in riding good horses is overstated, since they're invariably on the best horse. Punters should realise that the owners and trainers feel no obligation to them, so bet judiciously. UK national hunt racing is dominated by the Cheltenham Festival to the sport's detrimentnt. The Grand National is not the race it was.
