Wolverhampton Spreads Predictions
Winning Distances: 9.66 – 13.35
Starting Prices: 22.32 – 27.48
Racing Post Favourites: 68Wolverhampton 13:15
Two subsequent winners from Look At Me Now’s recent race puts him on the shortlist, although runs in previous maiden races have been uninspiring. I’m not a great fan of debutants of any type, however with some exposed types in the field, stranger Magilini has to be considered in calculations. With his trainer not noted for an over abundance of 2yo winners, Hey Fiddle Fiddle is a candidate for a place position only. If I were to focus on making money out of the race I would lay him on the exchanges and give up betting to watch racing for the rest of the day.Wolverhampton 13:50
Various ratings have the many runners in this race closely matched which suggests “here be dragons”. Although respected, Mr Red Clubs recent win’s were in sellers against moderate opposition. Front runner Stag Hill is likely to get taken on for the lead from a wide draw and therefore unsuited to the likely pace of the race. Chelsea Mick was noted as being hampered last time out. In review of video form, I’m not so sure he would have won, although the handicapper has dropped him a couple of pounds and therefore shortlisted. Top rated Not Bad For A Boy is also shortlisted.Wolverhampton 14:25
Stevie Gee has not shown any great aptitude for 7 furlongs. One Way Or Another runs off a high(ish) BHA mark. So, with Ezra Church highly rated on the toad odometer he should be there or thereabouts at the finish. To coin a phrase the jockey booking of Bawaardi takes the eye. The draw could have been kinder to Faithful Ruler.Wolverhampton 14:55
With a course strike-rate of 5-14 brings Chosen Forever into consideration however, Gritstone (NAP) won with some authority last time out and its difficult to find anything to oppose him given stamina doubts about Jordaura, Fakhuur stepping up in class, 7yo Follow The Flag’s ‘better’ form being at Southwell, outclassed Opus Maximus and poor recent form of Honey Of A Kitten, Hidden Glory et alWolverhampton 15:30
Tornado Force is respected, however unlike the undulations of Lingfield which can mask any stamina doubts, Wolverhampton’s flat surface is not so forgiving. The unlucky last time out Woop Woop and the massively priced Crunched (if you forgive his last run) are my main focus in this race.http://www.slipperytoad.co.uk/all-weather-ratings/

Yes TB.. noted Rossetti as the dark horse in the field and will keep a keen eye in the market.

surely there are other courses less deserving of fixtures.
Yep.. Bath ..

As this time of the year I am always on the look out for "strangers". These are easy to spot..
– Runners who have not being campaigned on the AW all winter
– Runners with a smattering of AW form as 3YO’s in Sept returning as 4YO’s
– Runners ridden by good jockeys who are also returning from their winter breaks.Typically these start in Class 5 races and progress to Class 4, some invariably run up a sequence
Lingfield 2.10
Betting Forecast
Arctic Lynx 3/1, Qadar 9/2, Waabel 10/1, Norville 10/1
Comment
Arctic Lynx looks like a legitimate favorite and priced accordingly by the market. Qadar looks the obvious danger so I will use both in a speculative exacta.
Selection
A. Arctic Lynx B. Qadar C. Waabel D. Norville
Exacta: AB with CD (4 lines)Lingfield 4.55
Betting Forecast
Lockantanks 5/1, Blue Moon 6/1, Titan Triumph 6/1, Buaiteoir 7/1, Pegasus Again 9/1
Comment
Titan Triumph’s recent race though good was noted as “muddling” and maybe the reason why Corals are best price. Pegasus Again runs against the track base bias. Beaten favourite and whip shy Buaiteoir had no excuses last time out.
Selection
Lockantanks @ 5/1, Blue Moon @ 6/1 or betterApologies to slipperytoad for using his thread but I probably won’t ever put up another AW tip so I thought here was the best place.
All welcome on this thread Tuffers especially if you tip a winner!
