I was at Sandown and had money on Lush Life. I am absolutely appalled by what happened at the start of the race. If the starter gave time in the first place for LL to be replated then he should have also given it time to warm up again after the farrier had finsihed with it and allow it time to get back into the pack with the other runners before starting the race. It was an abysmal decision by the starter to start the race in the manner he did and I would suggest he did so out of impatience. I have tried getting some information from the BHA about this. I am told there was, or is, an enquiry into the matter. One way or another I would like my stake money back. LL was given no chance at all by the starter and many punters will undoubtedly feel cheated. I really do feel this is a case where the authorities need to put their hands up.
