cheers Mr e THANKS FOR THE REPLY A GOOD THREAD THIS ONE
Mr E
Have you ever considered the VDW methods, over the last number of years, and what conclusions did you form.
Good post garstonf
L33 mentions temperament and this can’t be stated highly enough. The advent of the exchanges now make it possible to bet virtually on two flies going up a wall.
I recall in my pre VDW days, that when the last race was run on a Saturday afternoon,(before Sunday racing)the bookies did not open again until Monday morning, and there was still plenty of time to do your brains, between Monday and Saturday. In the current climate one can basically bet 24/7 on almost anything.
I am sure it is making the acquisition of temperament even more difficult.
There must have been a few good things over the last few days, surely the runner up in the dewhurst has marked its card.
sorry L33/mtoto got mixed up with last posting.
Thanks for the reply L33/Mtoto,my own thoughts are that the consistency rating VDW advocated were not the finishing places in the respective horses last 3 runs, but I could be wrong.
If VDW allotted a 10 instead of a 3 for Decent Fellows last placing, then this would bring PK into the top 3 on consistency.
Mtoto
so would you concur that the figures in golden years were correct, and that PK was 5,and BL 3
L33
The figures shown in the Erin for Prominent King and Beacon Light, were they the consistency ratings or a misprint or something else in your view ?
Thanks Mtoto I thought as much, but needed to check.
anyone able to help with my request
johngringo aka jib???
Can anyone help with the following,
1/ Was Proven going up in class when VDW made him a selection,I can’t decipher it as my formbook is a bit dishevelled, not unlike myself.
2/ Did Son of Love feature in the 3 most consistent?I seem to recall a discussion previously where someone alluded to the fact that all his previous form wasn’t included in the formbook.
Thanks in anticipation.
Lingfield 4.10 yesterday conflict won the day?
Hello Boozer,
To any newbies out there,I think it is important to point out that there have been a number of misprints in Tony Peach’s booklets over the years, two off the top of my head from the "Golden Years",are the date of the cobnut selling race was 4th August not the 2nd,and the horse called The Old Fellow in the booklets, was actually called "The Old Feller".
It just illustrates that there were mistakes made.
lol Barney,
Even the great VDW didn’t attempt that, but if you want some odds on losers I’m your man.
Hi Guys, good to see the old faces Lee,Barney,Crock Mtoto etc and others,i hope to contribute also, good race at Linfield 4.10,but a bit of conflict
