Oh yes you are…….its Opening Day, so you’ll be a chick and I’ll be a dude for a day….LOL
LETS GO YANKEES!!
Thats why I’ve hardly watched any of the ST games……its like a major Athletics meeting like the Olympics…….they’re not going to try and break any track records when they are in the qualifying heats…..just like Arod and the likes are not going to try and hit mega home runs each time…..they were pacing themselves……now its the real thing…
The good thing is, that the Yankees were averaging 7 runs a game compared to other teams who were just above 5, so the chicks who dig the home runs should be happy…

Yes, he was the owner or part owner of the Texas Rangers……they had a good team a few years back but won nothing….and they do like to put on a good show, with the national anthem and displays etc..
Less than 5 hours to go…….still thinking of whether I should have a bet on the game for old times sake…..lol
Hi Maggs….
Sounds like you had a great day out….
Hopefully, they won’t drift too much otherwise we’ll be in trouble and having to play catch up again…..

Thing to remember is, as its spring training, they don’t use their main players all the time. I had a look at the players who played that game yesterday and they are mostly reserves….
Its just like stretching exercises really….

3 days to go…..

Thats the way…gotta hurt them…steam in…lol……so does that mean we want them to start badly so the price drifts then?? lol
About 4 years ago, they were 2/1 to win the WS, can you believe it? This was before opening day…..but we kept messing it up in the play-offs…..its going to be different this year though…..there’s a new rule in place….JOBA RULES!!!!

You got a good price….hmmm…might have a nibble on the Phillies at 25/1……nah, feck it….Yanks all the way!!!!

Really……I said EACH-WAY!!! lol….not really, its in the bag, believe me…

What price did you get?
I’m backing them for the division, American League, the World Series, the SPL, the Premiership, the Stanley Cup, the Boat Race, the indoor bowls as well!!!!

Thats good….now you have to cheer them along as well….

No, their first game is next Monday at home against the Toronto Blue Jays…
Red Sucks will be playing their first game in Japan at 2am GMT….c’mon A’s!! lol
Edit: No, its at 10am GMT!!!

The game will finish about 4-4.30am…
….I’m still waiting for the big one on 13th April……Does your nephew have the game? Then he should know the rules…..or if he doesn’t, you can teach him about the count, suicide squeeze and stuff…lol
Hi Maggs…
Yes, I have heard of that game…..you have to hold the control like a baseball bat and swing…..be careful (they had to re-call a batch because it slipped for some people and smashed straight into their tv screens…
)The first game on channel 5 is next Sunday night/Monday morning at 12.55am between the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves…..one of your teams…lol…it might be worth watching/taping as its the first game of the season on channel 5 so they will no doubt go over all the teams and you get an idea of their (channel 5’s) format….

Good luck for today…
Its like the Grand National…anything can win…well, anything below 11st….oooooops…
Edit: to all those theorist/non-theorist…it was just a figure of speech…not wishing to start a fight or cause you sleepless nights….happy easter!!

WIll do….we can see how we’re doing at the end of each month…..betting in running…..

hmmm….interesting selections there Maggs….

We almost have the same AL West….don’t forget, ‘your’ boys play next Tuesday…….the Boston Red Sucks indeed….lol
Actually, the only ‘certainty’ is the AL East, one of our teams will win it for sure…
BASEBALL COMP
As Opening Day is upon us (25th March) why not have a little comp, nothing serious…
(hence the smiley icon). You get 2 picks (1st choice and 2nd choice) for each of the 6 divisions. You get double points if your 1st choice wins the Division, the League Series (play-offs, semi finals) or the World Series (final). You receive half the points if your 2nd choice wins. (this is so that if your 1st choice is out of contention, you still have a bit of interest)
Division Winners = 2 points (1st choice), 1 point (2nd choice)
League Series Winners = 6 points (1st choice), 3 points (2nd choice)
World Series Winner = 10 points (1st choice), 5 points (2nd choice)Teams to choose from:

Edit: Please form an orderly queue..thanks..

I never knew he was called that.
Yeah, Willie Mays, 4th all time in home runs…..his godson, Barry Bonds is the current leader, but lots of controvercy surronding him at the moment…..you thought Arod was bad……..

Other great hitters in the past besides the Babe, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, is Ty Cobb…..there was a film about him staring Tommy Lee Jones…..apparently, Cobb was a bit of a nutter too….lol
Yes, he does have a certain swagger…lol
Not sure who said the quote, but Shoeless Joe was featured in one of the films I told you about ‘Eight Men Out’, which they showed a few times on terrestial TV….
Its based on the true story of game fixing by the ‘Black Sox’…apparently, he was a great player….
Good, glad you found it…
Did you see that guy drop a routine ball??

Yeah, he is a bit cheeky, but its not against the rules (borderline) and you’ve got to love his will to win….(we needed that win) …..HA! lol
…that’s what I thought
….might watch a bit of the Reds v Toronto tomorrow – size up the opposition.I just checked, Toronto are playing the Red Sox (there is another team called the Cincinatti ‘Reds’)
