Hi
Yes it was a BOG but the reason I went in again is that I couldn’t believe the price when the winners main rival was an NR. My point argument was that it was a reformed market and still being offered at 5/1 I should not have been paid less on a rule 4.At the time of going in again at 5/1 it was because of unbeatable value only after did the stark true hit me when I saw that I got less for 6/1 less R4 than my later 5/1 bet I also took 9/2 with another layer later so I’m not throwing my toys out the pram but it was just a rather odd experience that’s probably quite rare but as long as I can keep backing winners at those sort of prices I’ll have to learn to live with it !!Hi Yeats
Because they know they can safely lay off my bets hence 3/1f price returned. I wouldn’t normally have noticed this discrepancy but it’s a bit rare to get paid less for a 6/1 winner than a 5/1 one when it’s the same horse and raceHi George
I can say that it’s very unlikely that any horses going to Ayr today are going to flying these sort of luxuries are reserved for Group type horses travelling to foreign meetings. What they are racing for at Ayr today would not warrant air fares. Some may travel up over night and stay in the racecourse stables

DougIf you love sport you should be able to work it for yourself it’s not rocket sc
I really don’t know what you guys want at the end of the day it’s a number of horses galloping round a field. Are you expecting someone to pop and give all the winners even after the waffling of the alleged ‘experts’ it ain’t going to happen. It’s just a form entertainment that you can to bet on. So get over it and just enjoy watching the horses running round a field and hope you’ve backed the one that finishes in front
Anyone noticed the tendency to miss label the favourite in their results noticed this has been happening regularly in the last few days. Example 4.15 Thirsk has Whitecliff Park 6/1f when the winner was 4/1
Hi
Folkestone will not be re emerging Shepway have been granted Government permission to built a new town which will include at least a part of itHi
To me this is just an excuse to raise the price and try to force everyone into the ultimate version at the same time. Personally essential suits me fine I have no interest in the RP tipsters/Pricewise and it’s a vast saving on the newspaper price. No one mentioned that the form does not currently show the type of race that it represents ie chase, hurdle etc. This is supposed to be coming but it would seem to me that it should have been a starting pointHere we go again Worcester devastated 13 runner race going to 5. Plenty on the flat as well and if you look at Oddschecker they give the withdrawal times any many of these are after 13.00 hours a touch late to be pleading going changes and sudden disability
All records must have been broken at Aintree tonight surely something MUST be done about this situation next there will wailing people losing interest in racing hardly surprising trainers are just withdrawing horses will nilly
Hi
And so it goes on Ayr has one or two non runners in every race and these are not reopened racesGinge I agree as the race was run unlikely that she would have won but I think Kirby definitely pulled her back after a good start favourite didn’t get a great ride either although more sense in holding her up new to the trip and likely to have a fair turn of foot and then struggling for a run
They used to do evening turf racing with no trouble Brighton and Epsom seem to be able to cope OK
I knew I was right about the increase in female only races Flat Stats have a function that easily checks these things and they have risen from 265 in 1991 to 481 in 2014 total races in 1991 was 3211 rising to 3979 in 2014 Female only races have increased from 8.25% to 11.33% of the total. I don’t quite understand this as the general support of them is poor and is certainly not helping field sizes.
There is centralised race planning at BHA..
There is precious little evidence of it being effective if it actually exists
I don’t care how few amateur races there are 16% I quoted they have no place in a professional entertainment environment in spite of the diehards that are still in the 18th centuryHalf the thoroughbred foals born are female…given that they (as a group) are disadvantaged physically in comparison to colts & geldings what would you have the industry do but to facilitate a programme where they can race?
[/quote]
Yes they might be born in equal numbers but not so many of them get to race and they are compensated with weight allowances to compete against their male counterparts. This really wasn’t my main point it’s that on the whole they are poorly supported and it would be a lot better for them not to be clashing by a more centralised fixture list which also help in other poorly supported areas.
My other point regarding amateur races is that the whole sport is run on an ad hoc manner with little regard to the paying public(either betting or attending) which is why it has to survive on bookmakers hand outs. You would not to pay to go to any other form of professional entertainment and find 16% of it supplied by amateursWell that’s better then a delightful AW meeting at sandpit Southwell and 2 jumps meetings
