More nonsense and illogical arguments on this issue than anything else in a long time.
Cormack, why dont you open a poll just to see who actually agrees with you and the BHA?
No need as I’m pretty sure the anti new rule camp would get more votes. Just because more people vote one way doesn’t mean they are right and the others haven’t got a valid opinion. After all the Tories got in power at the last election

Also they are not fining the jockey. They are in effect disqualifying the jockey for breaking the rules. I’m pretty certain that in any sport if you are disqualified you would not be given any prize money.
I don’t know what your legal qualifications are to make such a statement but I would be pretty sure the BHA took legal advice before introducing them.
And Hughes 5 days.
I suspect all he was saying was he would still try as hard to win but wouldn’t break the rules to do it. Nothing wrong with that.
There isn’t a lot I can say as Ginger and Cormack seem to have said everything I would want to on the matter.
I have got to say that I did expect opposition to the new rules but I am suprised at the vehmenence of some of the opposition. It’s not as if the whip has been banned completely.
I don’t think we can say that just because other administrations allow different rules so should we, someone has to take the lead. In fact I can see other countries fall in line with us. I would hate to see us falling in line with America and see things like Jamie Spencer did on Cape Blanco.
I for one am not worried if one horse doesn’t win because it can’t be hit with the whip because another will.
If the new rules were the old rules and the old were new….. Then we’d all be moaning. This time about those genuine horses who would NOW get beaten by less temperamentally sound individuals under a whipping drive.
Excellent post and so true.
I also totally agree that the original poster has a right to his/her opinion but,I’m also wondering why someone would feel it necessary to open a new thread on this subject when we already have another long with many people expressing strongly held opinions still going strong.
1.7 million for the Brigid filly…. Jesus i hope that’s a black type horse is this the dearest filly ever?
I’m not sure what the record is but the same agent bought a half sister to this horse (by Sadlers Wells) for 2.5m a few years ago.

It is obvious that "David" and the RSPCA have a broader agenda: to work slowly but inexorably towards a BAN on horse-racing entirely, as it is in essence "cruel" to them, despite what the scientific evidence has to say on the matter.
You keep mentioning scientific evidence so what exactly is your evidence that the RSPCA want horse racing banned ? This really is scaremongering, without any evidence whatsoever.
Also what exactly do you mean by scientific evidence ? Scientific evidence for what ?
"Alas, GC, you are quite right about that! Let’s wait and see how the BHA deals with the torrent of litigation, court challenges and punter disaffection that will follow the introduction of the new rules."
Who exactly is going to bring this "torrent of litigation and court challenges" ? And on what basis will they happen ?
I think before people start jumping on their backs it would be a good idea to see what the plans were. They might actually be very good.
even though i backed so you think, im still adament that its the jockeys fault for the loss. to have the horse that far back in the race, surely he was riding to instructions. but i suppose thats a thing we will never know.
as for the judgements being made on other jockeys, why did the best jockey riding not have a ride in the arc?
I don’t think it was his fault. He had bad draw and had to drop in behind.
It would be rather nice if one of the two dedicated racing sites (SportingLife/RUK or ATR) had replays of the biggest meeting on the European calendar wouldn’t it? What a ******* joke.
I would imagine that because ATR show Longchamp live but not the replays there are probably some legal or contractual reasons.
On Iplayer now
Galikova took a bump early on and hampered workforce slightly. I’m not sure it affected them too much and think they both probably suffered on the ground a little.
I personally think that the draw did for Snow Fairy, So You Think and Sarafina. Wouldn’t say they would have won but the complexion of the race may have been different. I think criticisms of the jockeys on SYT and Sarafina are wrong. They both had to drop in at the rear because of their draw with Sarafina opting for the outside and SYT for the inside. They just had too much to do at the end but not sure the jockeys could do too much about it.
How good the winner is I’m not sure but she deserves full credit and may be better than many believe and deserves our congratulations.
Entirely predictable Kenh. All three are now their usual riders, at least when Ryan is not available.
So You Think in stall 14.
Yes I agree. I am just wondering if they held on to see if Workforce would be withdrawn. Just supposition as not a great expert on the flat ( nor jumps come to that).
Draw just announced on twitter.
