The latest run off 70 is by far the best in some time and its turn will come again but i have a few reservations about backing it on friday.
1/ i get the feeling might be better over 6f, 2/ the fact that its 2 worst runs this year have been with the description soft in the ground , 3/ personally i think it will find giving 19lb till myjestic melody a little too much.
I have been known to be wrong tho :?

Sometimes you just have to accept that it was unlucky. The horse in front jinked left as he was making his move , thats racing!

Fantastic judgement and a wonderfull piece of showmanship from the young prodigy. He has just won the derby by a head stood up in the saddle with his chest puffed out waving to the masses (Hopefully sayin to himself "ave it" lol ). Magnificient

Is horse racing morally justifiable? I dont think so

For us as a forward thinkin society to allow an animal to be bred for and then forcefully used for our own entertainment is an abhorrent misuse of our power over these creatures and comparisons to breeding cows and pigs for sustenance just doesnt wash with me
The fact may be that the ones good enough are treated well but the ones that dont happen to be able to run fast enough are disposed
The use of the argument that ah well there are worse things going on in the world is a poor argument used over and over again in the defence on this thread and again doesnt wash with me, i mean if everyone took that attitude where the hell would our society be

I like cormacks argument for the defence and feel he put forward a well reasoned and informative debate on his reasons for why he thinks it is morally justifiable
Now heres my view on it i have no love for the horse as an animal and only care about my ability to bet on them in the expectation that they are fit and well and will run to form.

Am i hypocritical? very much so. Do i care? not a bit

I dont have the inside scoop just like racing yet my only bet of the day was on Conry (that only fav at wolves), hardly mug punter and anyone who backs odds on in a claimer or against unexposed horses in a nursery deserves all they get

Well you cant fault my consistency with todays results giving me 4 seconds in a row. No poppy was chinned by a handicap job in my opinion and i hate it when that happens (although i must confess i had a saver on shesastar just incase that happened, i know aftertiming boo hoo), and Hitchens just had to be beaten by Russian spirit who finally lived up to its potential against me. Frustrating spell at the min

A reasonably difficult card tomorrow but im gonna take a couple from doncaster with the first being No Poppy in the 1.25, in 6f handicaps its form reads 222 and with hanagan on board tomorrow hopeful of a big 1 and in the 3.40 im going with Hitchens who has hit peak form and back over 6f where it ran a cracker in the ayr gold cup winning its side after being victorious in a handicap, with de sousa flyin in the saddle looks to have a great chance

    No poppy 3 pts win
    Hitchens 2 pts e/w

Not getting the breaks with Willow dancer probably just getting a mile and glenridding not doing any favours going suicidal pace and stretchin its stamina , todays 2 seconds were pretty frustrating especially Conry who was a bit unlucky and definately has a race if coming out soon on ground with give

Two bets today at kempton and catterick with the first in the 2.25 Fair passion who with a reproduction of previous run should take it and in 3.45 catterick Conry with a serious weight pull with solar spirit and conditions to suit should go close

    Fair passion 3pts win
    Conry 1pt e/w

Mondays bet goes in the 4.30 at wolves and is Willow dancer, mark rose as high as 90 last year but racing 16 pound lower now holding form well and with swinburn in good form looks a solid bet

    Willow dancer 3pts win
