All I have;
“We were confident and hopeful the step up to a mile and a half would suit him and it’s always great when a plan comes to fruition,” said the Englishman.
“We were very happy with his first run back this season and while he was beaten in his second start we took the positives out of it.
“I was lucky enough to be able to give him a summer break. Some people might question what he beat, but he did it very well.”
“We will discuss the Arc with his Highness Sheikh Mohammed in the next week to 10 days and see how the horse is.”And these are from earlier in Aprilish after the prix d’harcourt
“From three to four his sire Dubawi has the best stats in the world so I was confident in that, but I was also confident in the horse himself,” said Appleby.
“He’s always been a very powerful traveller. I said to William, ‘Just keep it simple, don’t interfere with him’. William has gone out there and given him a peach of a ride.”
“He’s two from two here so it’s safe to say he’s comfortable here,” said Appleby. “The plan has always been to hopefully step him up to a mile and a half in time.
“I’m not going to get away from it, I feel he’s potentially an Arc horse. We’ve got a lot of water to go under the bridge, but he’s started off on the right foot.”
these?
“William felt he hasn’t got the turn of foot on slower ground,” Appleby said. “But personally I feel he’s ready to step up to a mile and a half [from 10 furlongs] now.
“Group One horses generally have a gear change. That’s why they are what they are. I’m not taking away from what he beat last time but he had a soft lead and got a nice distance in front so they had to work hard to pick him up. Today they sat close to him, he was there to be picked up and that’s what happened. We knew coming into the race that it would be a test for him but I’d be hoping to step him up to a mile and a half sooner rather than later.”
Sorry to see you’ve been banished LS, enjoyed your posts.
I don’t think it was a strange decision as it got it’s best RPR at 6f, it had regressed against Pinatubo at 7f in 5 weeks Pinatubo had found 6 1/2 lengths, also looked like it weakened a bit in the final furlong in the goodwood race at 7f, perhaps 6f suits at this time.. it is also a stiff 6f today, also O’briens comments;
O’Brien said: “I thought Lope Y Fernandez looked very happy back at six when winning at the Curragh. He seemed to really enjoy himself over that trip.”
I’ve gone with Earthlight but took some of the 16s (actually 10’s for 5 places) on this for bet365 E/W extra
good chance this one might well progess at 3 being from Shamardal
Unlucky lad & good spot, I followed in on Unifer after looking at the Jockey on board got 100/1 e/w so was a nice return….
No Arizona on your list? ran a bad one last time but still looked good before… I also like Petite Mustique & Santiago
Odd to let them get that far ahead… the 3f finish suits galloping horses so seeems v odd to let galloping horses have a lead, i’d of thought if you are a fast finsihing horse you’d want to be as close as possible to those setting the gallop
Shout out to TheBluesBrother for his speed ratings, it gave me Raffle prize today and Arizona yesterday…
Le brivido been drifting all day on betfair

3. TelecasterHas anything by Siyouni really convinced over this distance ?
I think the progeny do well over distance though limited numbers, almost midnight won @ 1.4m 2 weeks back… Laurens obviously failed the distance but the dam was a miler just like Siyouni, Maqsads is Amerique out of Galileo…
Hein, you really seem a miserable individual you talk of joy and fun yet here you are spreading your negativity! serious bettors bet for profit not fun. You seem to of posted just to be provocative? that to me speaks for itself

I’ve gained winners from this thread so I thank GT and as said before enjoy his insight.
