In almost 50 years watching racing I never saw anything quite like that – and I saw Frankel race three times in the flesh.

That was a suicidal pace – look where a really good past Breeders’ Cup Mile on dirt winner Life Is Good has finished – yet Flightline just breezed by him and effortlessly drew ever further clear.

As great a dirt horse I ever saw in my life, Secretariat included.

Wish they hadn’t zoomed in quite so much on him close home, I wanted to see how far clear he was.

Clare Balding was a truly shocking appointment that ruined not only BBC racing but BBC sport pretty much forever after.

Not because she was female, not because of her orientation, but because she was rubbish.

Anyone on this forum could go head to head with her in a quiz about her father’s own Mill Reef and wipe the floor with her – that’s how bad she is.

And didn’t she coin that nauseating “Mo Time” regarding Mo Farah?

Positive discrimination occurs in many walks of life and not just relating to race.

The Labour Party are actively increasing the number of female parliamentary candidates they have at the moment and make no secret of the fact.

I used to work at the BBC – time was when it was a public school educated male white dominated environment which lacked meritocracy and that was wrong.

Actively changing that in the last 30 years has clearly involved an element of positive discrimination.

This means that for every Clive Myrie (legend) there is a Rishi Persad.

I too have read it suggested that he’s a beneficiary of positive discrimination.

Peter O’Sullevan in his prime was never afraid of silence.

Ady Williams. ex-footballer and a genuine racing fan, is fantastic on sport, much better than the ex-public school sounding clown who is actually Sports Editor, but I can’t stand breakfast show, hence station top dog, front man Andrew Peach.

If he isn’t a Tory he does a thinly-veiled impression of one.

Sounds like he will escape the full.

Tbh the early morning and late afternoon local travel news is probably the item of most use to listeners.
