After what has been a long season that has to have been his best ever performance. I say that despite the fact I said it was going to be a steering job as I didn’t expect him to be quite that impressive. Def a bit of the Wow! factor there and the average time was faster than Frankel’s.
Wish I had taken that 7/2 about him for the Breeders but alas he’s now 7/4 and deservedly so. One worry Santa Anita is on the turn but as long as the gaps come he’ll take some beating.
One last post on the subject, unless provoked of course.

Entirely different subject a man must defend his position in life look what happened to Julius Caesar. I have to nip these coups in the bud when someone has it in-fa-me

Did I mention I was the greatest tipster on the planet?
Opinion Poll is a fair bit shorter than I thought he would be and Frankie isn’t riding him so I’m reducing my stake by 19,995 pounds and having a fiver on
I find Barza a hard jockey to trust at times, one day he looks brilliant the next day he looks clueless.Didn’t think Ile de ray would run he is improving at some rate of knotts and is no 8/1 shot….I’m backing both.
I was agreeing with you Boz not saying you were saying what you were not saying so I won’t say it again in case you think I was saying what I was not saying about what you were saying……..what was it you said again?

Happy days….I think

Anyway, how about this Sprinter Sacre chap for the Champion Chase?

He’s got a chance!!
Of being the first horse to have been awarded a walkover at the Cheltenham Festival

Nicky Dropped him back in trip after the Neptune because he was far too excitable and was burning himself out. Apparently no one could go any where near him when he was a young horse or he’d have kicked you into the middle of next week but now he’s nice and relaxed and settles really well and won at Aintree over 2m4f running away.
tbh I felt a bit silly when I put him up as future King George horse before the Arkle and then they kept him at 2 miles but it seems Nicky has always thought he’ll get 3 miles so we’ll see.
Nothing fazes Frankel. You only have to look at him doing his roll of honour at the end of his races that he’s a horse that just likes to get on with it.
Of course he’s facing ground softer than he’s previously encountered but if you look right back at his EBF Maiden win, he travelled easily enough and was only pushed out to beat Nathaniel who was throwing the kitchen sink at him.
I’m confident that Frankel will perform in the soft (who knows … he might even relish it!) and show us once again why he’s so damn fantastic!
[b:1m5qxndn]COME ON FRANKEL![/color:1m5qxndn][/b:1m5qxndn][/size:1m5qxndn]

That’s what I like to see a post full of optimism

Wouldn’t it be fitting if Nathaniel was 2nd and Frankel won ending his career on the same note as he started it?………with a street length between them of course.
If you took out Frankel and put So You Think and Snow Fairy in they’d probably head the betting if they were in top top shape.
Have you really got so little idea. So You Think and Snow Fairy just wouldn’t run on this ground but hypothetically Cirrus Des Aigles would be a very short price to wipe the floor with them.
Cirrus Des Aigles is arguably the second best horse around and running on his favoured ground. Frankel for all the superlatives is unproven on the ground and connections clearly have more than a ‘tiny concern’ about conditions. Yes, he may still trounce the opposition but that belief involves a large amount of guesswork for which you are getting a very short price. He was still backed at short odds in his previous races – he isn’t this time for good reason.
So you can speak hypothetically but I cant?Fool!!! .Can’t you debate without being downright rude?
I was talking hypothetically which any half intellegent person would realise so the ground would also be hypothetical/normal. My point was if they 3 met again under the same circumstances the French horse wouldn’t be fav to beat them let alone be a danger to Frankel as Ginge seems to think is likely or he just likes throwing money away.
Both So You Think and Snow Fairy were on losing streaks when they met Cirrus last year plus they both had a hard race in the Arc just before.
At that time no one on the planet was saying Cirrus was the best or second best in Europe which was reflected in the betting when he went of at an unfancied 12/1.
He then beat St Nicholas Abbey a neck at level weights which makes him decent but the 2nd best in the world? Never in a month of Sundays. He’s a neck better than St Nicholas Abbey and that’s exactly how good he is. He has an advantage of soft ground because it doesn’t slow him down as much as it does others but that to me says he’s too highly rated as most top races are run on good ground and he’s never there.
At the end of the day it’s horse racing and anything can happen but trying to imagine anything over the past 40 years beating Frankel at level weights is hard enough never mind some present day overrated French mudlark.
bit like when I put up
Fleeting spirit at 40/1
to win the July Cup,
Art Conneisseur at 40/1
to win the Golden Jubilee and a bit like
Prohibit at 40/1
to win the Kings Stand,Now when you have History like that on here I might just give you a bit of
respect
until then If I was you I’d definately stop making yourself look like the biggest ‘I am’ on here as we both know who really is…………’I am’!
Get over it!
Back in the days when I used to put my 100% books in the thread.

Can I have your "respect" now please Your Royal High-Horse?
And I didn’t even need to risk losing my money ante-post.
A horse estimated in my 100% book as a 22/1 shot wins @ 40/1.
It’s about time you realised TAK, big priced winners are no good if you don’t have the over all profit to go with it.

Under my current staking system it would’ve been 14 points (not 4) winning 560.
Of Course in comparison to me you are both Amatuers.
Was there ever a better post than this one I put up in Jan 2010?
"Jonjo has a plan he’s going to run Don’t Push It and get AP a sportsman of the year award before he retires"

The race was of course the Grand National and when the first thread started without one mention of any other horse I simply posted "Don’t Push It will win" and started backing him that day at all rates fom 60 down to 22’s. I bet him ever week without fail with just about every bookie on the planet and when you guys talking about great wins I just laugh to myself.
None of the two of you have patch on me
I am the greatest tipster in the room
and the best looking and if you want a second opinion your both ugly

If Frankel doesn’t win by 6 lengths or more, then some will inevitably say (wrongly) he isn’t as good as they rated him.
I’ll be cheering on Frankel all the way, but both Cirrus and Nathaniel are too big to ignore. I’ve backed them both against him at a combined price of just over 4/1.
Both are proven in soft ground and stay further than Frankel. It looks like being a stamina test.
Now I am convinced your totally off your rocker
How can any horse be value to beat the worlds best racehorse in any conditions? If you took out Frankel and put So You Think and Snow Fairy in they’d probably head the betting if they were in top top shape.
Dozens of races to have a bet in with a lot more chance of success than trying to get Frankel beat,
The ground will have to stop Frankel and slow him down an awful lot for the opposition to have the remotest chance. They are what they are and they don’t go any faster because the ground is soft they are totally dependent on Frankel going 10 lengths or more slower than his norm.I just can’t see that happening and if the ground is absolutely desperate they wont run him anyway and rightly so..
I honestly think he’d win this by 15 lengths this possibly being his last race and it were good ground but in these conditions Tom will most likely hold on to him a bit longer than usual so I took the 11/10 under 6 lengths and 5/2 3.5-6 lengths inclusive.
I also took 5/2 Nathaniel without Frankel. All of which might end up making me look as daft as you

Carlton House was a big loser for me when beaten fair and square by So You Think and if that wasn’t bad enough he follows up by running like a 3 legged mule next time out. Trusting him to run up to his SYT form isn’t easy.
I’ve ran out of excuses for him and this looks like a steering job for Excelebration unless SMS knows something the racing public doesn’t.
Why my learned friend/s think the ground is an issue is beyond me he’s he went through soft ground in Ireland like a Ferrari and of the front 4 has the best form in testing conditions.
Anything approaching even looks generous to me.

I honestly don’t think the french horse could get him out of a canter E I’d be more worried about Nathaniel nicking 2nd off them than Frankel if I were the French.
Apart from the ground being a tiny concern there is nothing the French horse has done that would suggest he’s capable of doing anything else other than watching Frankel wave bye bye when Tom says go.
None of us know and I doubt if anyone outside of his family will know which stage he is at.
We should not be surmising anything and stick to the racing and leave the opinions about his health to the medical experts.
I was messing around last night and found a few easy looking races and after the results had I backed the horses I chose I would have made a small profit

More than twice the profit which is tempting.
But then I looked at what would happen on if I had backed 2 less winners.
Needless to say the first one the loss was minimal but on the second one almost 20% of my bank would have been gone so I think the way I intend staking is the best way.
Funny I was listening to Timeform Radio last night and someone asked Dan Barber about Dutching and they mentioned it was the idea of legendary gangster Dutch Shultz so I looked it up on Wikpedia and it turns out when he Dutched he used the method where no matter which horse won the take out was the same so that just gave me more encouragement to stick it,
So there you go Ginge if anyone says all you are doing is Dutching you can put your hand on your heart and say "No I am Not" "I am not a Gangster Fist is" Gotta busy day starting in a few hours ahead then out on the piss with me Aussie mates tonight the old eyes will be
tonight.ETA Wednesday…. geez they are so slow down under and on this side of the globe
My final word on this is this:_
This started because Ginge never made up a book at Gords request!
But why does he want to look at a book which he doesn’t know how to read one?
I looked back to where this started and saw Gord’s effort he is clueless about these things.
So if Ginge made up the book what then? Gord wouldn’t know if it were good bad or whatever.
This isn’t about Ginge it’s about The Ante Post King’s ego.
I realised that a bit too late and perhaps should have read a bit more before opening my silly mouth.
Make no mistake I totally disagree with Ginger’s veiws and I find him to be very condescending at times (it means your a bit of a dick Ginge)but I don’t want to be part and parcel of Gord’s vendetta to bring a valued member of the forum down and that is why I deleted the posts because Gord has gone way too far IMO.
And still he won’t stop
why????
He could have ended the thing the other day but he never because ? If I need to spell it out to anyone reading this then you should apply for one of the lead rolls in the remake of Dumb and Dumber
Long Live The King
Geez!! that would be the best news in years if it turns out to be true
It’s turned out Sir henry did the right thing not sending him to France. As Kris Diesis points out there’s nothing specialabout this years race apart from the fact it might be run in a bog. Perish the thought of Frankel running his final race in conditions like they will face tomorrow if the get heavy rain tonight.
If Nathaniel were to turn up in this and Frankel beats him hands down no one will give the Arc a second thought.
Plus if Sir Henry is well enough to be there and Frankel puts up another startling performance the sound of the cheers Sir Henry will get will travel all the way to Paris anyway.
Viva la AscotI don’t know how true it is but I spoke to one of Sir Henry’s old hands this evening in the town and he seems to think the trainer will call it a day after Frankel’s final race. He reckons Sir Henry has assembled his entire family to be at Ascot, according to him Noel and Katie and even his ex wife Julie are going to be there with him.
I say I don’t know how true because Sir Henry recently said in an interview that he had no intention of retiring.

Well I’ll tell you this much Sir Henry will not retire because he has the best reason in the world to stay on board. If all goes well on Saturday and Frankel shows he’s as good as ever on the expected ground he will stay in training and you can take that to the bank. It will be the Prince’s present to Sir Henry to thank him for all the success he has brought HRH at least that’s the rumour going around at the moment
