Bigtime, Dave!<br>Can’t wait for his next installment.

If Bolton’s greatest steeplejack  could have the "Fred Dibnah Appreciation Society" formed by his fans then I think Cubone is deserving of a similar honour!!!

Both great eccentrics/characters in the best British tradition ……….. but unlike Cubone dear old Fred (R.I.P) didn’t have a blog! ;)

A fair comment, Seabird. <br>But Tony Culhane also had a hugely impressive LSP for Mick Channon — but it doesn’t follow that I would risk a large wedge on that fella balancing a nag  around the elbow of the Curragh in the Tattersall’s.

Indeed he is!<br>His mis-spellings I now appreciate add great uniqueness, individuality and charm to the blog. The man should have a Government preservation order put on him! A class act!!!

I’m loving his occasional philosophical musings also. Here is Cubones take on addictions:<br>______________________________________<br> "I would like to give my humble advise. on any aspect, Grand Father Rights, is a pet hobbie of mine also Old Peoples rights, that doesnt mean that School bullying. Cocain, crack, or heroin dependancy is not a massive concern.to me.

Binge Drinking I know a lot about. but that dont mean I have a cure

family going back 4 generations, and all smoked except me. and it is a fact that at 70 I hold the record for longevity. only the tourtise, is on a par at 70. howver he like me, is a passive smoker."<br>_______________________________________

    ROFL ROFL ROFL.

BTW, I see that Cubone has addressed the issue of spelling errors. Quote from his blog: " and hate to waist any time spell checking". Viva Cubone, and don’t change a thing!

The softer ground will not be to Dylan Thomas’s liking, I think. A poor fifth on soft in the International at York against inferior opposition.<br>One who will love the ground is Fracas,  50/1 :o  . All his wins on soft, yielding and heavy — Derrinstown, Betfred at Sandown and his maiden. Second last month to DT on ground too firm but needs to find 3 lengths.

I liked Youmzain until I was made aware of the jockey booking!!!

Actually, I’ve done a complete U-turn and have to agree with you ………… the mis-spellings lift an already excellent blog into the stratosphere of the truly great!!! Me hugs Cubone — he’s a National Treasure!

Just to quote one of his many gems from recent postings: "before he left the meeting he was shot in the buttox. and carried the bullett with him until his death in the 60s"

LOL, Live long and prosper, Cubone. :) <br>

I’ve been with Betdaq ever since Betfair introduced the "Know Your Customer" procedure ( I couldn’t be arsed to scan and fax all the bank/electricity/phone details etc.).. And in the last two days there has been a very noticeable increase in the Betdaq liquidity levels. People have definitely migrated as a result of the Betfair increases.<br>Be warned tho’ …….. Betdaq have introduced a 2% commission on I.R. bets, the so-and-so’s!!! Only in the last coupla days! Very suspect.

Now, I’ve been reading that some gamblers/traders have negotiated a premium commission rate with Betdaq …… as low as 2 %! Apparently, if you ask nicely, Betdaq will accomodate you. Anyone here on TRF to have tried this?

Finally, one final question. Barry D is on record here as saying that he gets a better commision rate on Betdaq than Betfair (and that was before Betfair’s recent increase). So, does that mean that bookmakers have a more tolerable commission rate than us mere mortals? I do know that Betdaq use some technology called RDI  to facilitate bookmakers transactions but you can only qualify to this higher level service if you have a bookmakers licence and a pitch(s).

LOL, Maurice, as your sig states that you are "always up for a giggle" I can only assume that you are having a laff when you claim that<br>

Quote: from Maurice on 8:47 pm on May 24, 2007[br] Kinane is hopeless and gets lucky every now and again.

<br> And regarding your accusation that, quote: " "Fallon is more bent than a bugle" well, I’ll refrain from making any comment on same until he is actually convicted of such a crime by a jury of his peers.

Re jockeys of the modern era that seem to bring me out in an allergic rash, one in particular is Tony Culhane. A jockey that nearly succeeded in making me fall OUT of love with the game.

I’m thoroughly enjoying Cubone’s blog. Thanks for pointing me at that, Dave.

A minor quibble tho’, ……………………he asks at the end of his most recent posting: "What do you advise?". <br>My reply would be Use the bloody Spellchecker!"

It seems pedantic, but the mis-spellings spoil an otherwise excellent effort.

Definitely not part of Republic of Ireland either.

Fact is, Madman, only two of the ten all-time winningmost NH riders are from "Ireland". Know who they are???

Maybe not  ………… Aderian Maquire and Norman Williamson!

Now, funnily enough, I’m from Ireland but I have no problem admitting to this statistic. The top jocks are actually U.K. born and bred.

Whatabout McCoy, Dunwoody, Dobbin???<br>That’s without even thinking about it ……….. give me ten seconds and I’ll come up with ten top ones!

I dunno how strong you are on geography Madman, but Norn Ireland is part of the U.K. last time I looked! <br>

You can’t be certain either that the "right" stallion would be produced to service the mare! In the covering shed there are usually not much more than three entities present — the pair of four-legged lovers and the stud groom. Wide open also to skullduggery if you wish to let your imagination run riot.

That’s why there is Blood Typing and DNA Profiling for thoroughbreds.

Indeed it is, Chubs. So I’ll take this opportunity to voice my difference of opinion with you on this occasion. I’m with Racing Gurll on this one — I genuinely saw nothing ontoward with the ride given to Ommadawn. Ribena if anything was most professional in his riding, I thought.

Racing Girl, do you get the impression that Montjeu’s seem to like a little cut in the ground?

    Fair ’nuff, Aidan.

Do please accept my sincerest apologies for any perceived criticism.<br>Sometimes, I can be a whinging old fart …….. along the lines of Alf Garnett or that ancient geezer from Steptoe & Son. Dunno how anyone puts up with me!.

Best of luck with your future punting and tipping, mate. I honestly do mean that!

No begrudgery on my part, Bud !!!<br>I congratulated the guy on his Yankee ( okay maybe there was a small rider attached to the praise).

But, I do have a slight reservation when I read "I don’t make any money at the moment from my tips, but hopefully that will change when I start a Pay-For tipping service".

Using the open nature of TRF to pimp an upcoming service such as this proposed is a bit sly IMHO.
