Bloody good achievement for any jockey to be honest. Her being a girl is all the more amazing. She really has made it in a man’s world. Fair balls to her. Well done H.

    2 things.

For Derek Thompson to just…………….well ………..anything really that involves his disappearance……………just go away and crawl under some rock and stay there.

Secondly for Hurricane Fly to win the Supreme and Kauto to regain his Crown.

Here’s one. Who was the only horse to regain the champion hdl after losing his crown?

"Horse racing DEPENDs on the ability of unique presenters and characters like Down, Thommo and Big Mac to get people interested enough to come racing. They’re racing’s Front-of-House and we should be getting behind them. IMO, of course."

Well IMO no it does not! Most people get into horse racing thru family or friends or a works outing – family I wud say is number 1. Very very few get into it by watching those idiots on C4 racing – very few. You’re telling me people watch Big Mac and that fool Thompson on C4 and then say "Oh I must go racing!!" Not a hope. If anything it will put them off going. Racing does NOT need Derek Thompson. He is a disgrace and just drives people away from racing. He is detrimental to the sport IMO.

OK GWILSON – maybe ill have to concede he wasnt the best looking oil painting around – not that that bothers me. But for me anyway, he was the best tv racing presenter around for years. If you’re going to tell me that ANY of this pathetic bunch are better than him, then I’m gonna come back at ye! What bugs me is whoever is in charge of producing C4 racing must be a bit lackin’?? Can they not see the Morning Line and it’s coverage of racing in general is slowly going down the pan?? As for BBC1 – doesn’t bear comment. Racing is over on BBC – effectively.14 days next year is it? That’ll be that then inside 2 years for racing on the glorious BBC.

Well he had Bula right behind him Monkey so I don’t know if he wud have won any more to be honest. Followed then by Comedy. Bula was a brilliant horse. Personally I think he was underrated. I’d have him right up there with any of them. Persian War was a class act though – no doubt. So many brilliant hurdlers in the 70s. Truly thee golden era – nothing can hold a light to it. What about a few forgotten heroes like Birds Nest and Dramatist? Even horses like that would be winning champion hurdles today no bother. Just happened they ran into the best bunch of all time.

Gotta agree with Ian here. I think Celestial is the main danger. He’s going to be about 4L to 5L better at Chelts come March. He has proven already he comes up the hill and has won the Triumph. Binocular would be able to wallop anything at Ascot and did so – He will find it harder at Chelts and really still has to DEFINITIVELY prove he comes up dat hill (Remember he was btn by Captain Cee Bee). I think Binocular is still nailed on for the ch hdl but I dont think i agree with Ladbrokes opinion (Evens Binox, 10/1 2nd fav Sublimity). I think it shud be 6/4 Binny, 9/2 Celestial, 10/1 Sublimity and Katchit – forget the rest. Something like that. Binny SHUD win but I don’t think it’s going to be the consummate procession some on here think it might be. Celestial is bound to make him work hard and Sublimity for all his crappy ch hdl win seems to be in cracking form and shud improve on last years 4th. My forecast wud be Binny to win, Celestial 2nd and Sublimity and Katchit to scrap it out for 3rd.

I’ve got to stand up for Brough Scott here YPud. He is/was thee best presenter of racing on TV for many a long year. Good lookin chap in his day 25 to 30 years ago if you manage to get a butchers at him. How you can call him an ugly git with Big Mac, Francome, Jim "Flutterin’ eyes" McGrath and Idiot Thommo all on the same program is beyond me??!!!!!

They really are a disgrace. The dumbing down of the program has gone beyond a joke. Big Mac is just a buffoon who is way past his sell-by date. Why Derek Thompson is on national tv remains a mystery – he truly is the pits. The falseness of him makes me puke. Keep Johnny F and Mick Fitz, get rid of every remaining one of them including all them women – what is the point of them lot? I don’t get it? Why do they need almost a dozen people to present this program? Keep Francome, keep Mick Fitz, nick Norman off BBC1 – pay Brough Scot whatever money he wants to come back. There you go – problem solved. 4 people on the program and thats that.

Bbobbell? Can’t have that. Night Nurse and Monkey were the ultimate warriors. Persian War was a mighty horse too. To say he would have finished "well clear" of these two legends is not on. It would have been a battle royale with Monkey just edging it for me – BUT saying all that they ALL would have been left trailing in the wake of the greatest NH hurdler of all time in the Cygnet. Of THAT I have no doubt.

Tourbillon? u really think hed get plenty of rides from Ballydoyle?? You really think AOB wants his operation associated with a cocaine addict like Fallon (Admitted it himself) when he has one of the best jockeys in the world at his disposal in the mighty Johnny? Methinks you are sorely mistaken. AOB will have nothing to do with Fallon ever again.

I was there. Ruby was just about to get after Neptune but AP had taken a pull out of Exotic and I have no doubt Exotic would have won easily. Was delighted for the horse – deserved a big pot and in the morning he looked the only decent value in the race to me anyway at 5/1 or so.
