i.ve backed sea of thunder earlier in the season for this race too.his run in cheltenham was a real improvement in form.he was really well backed that day which is a big positive with this stable.he has won two irish points beating last instalment into fourth in the first of these.(this was last instalment’s first ever run).his best form is in better ground over a trip which he’ll get in this race.the x factor for this horse is his trainer who knows what it takes to win this race and is certainly a trainer who knows how to have one ready. with boston bob likely to run in the neptune i see mount benbulben as the main danger

was a bit disappointed with sir des champs over the xmas.he may well have won if knockfierna hadn’t ran out but it was in no way guaranteed.may be a better animal for better ground.not a whole pile has come out of the martin pipe from last yr.he may not have beaten much.his rep seems a bit large over fences too for what he has acheived

cheers rob.disapppointing lack of opportunities for a decent mare to take on her own sex.

possible one from way out left field but does anyone think on softer ground that pittoni could make up into a champion hurdle horse.charles byrnes looks to be campaigning this one in a similar sort of way to solwhit a few years back.he’s entered in the morgiana hurdle shortly.likely to get his ground there in his first match with hurricane fly.has a lot to find on figures but is definitely still improving.shrewd trainer and connections too

cheers for the detailed response marginal value-i would consider myself a fairly good student of the game particularly the jumps.like to think that i put in enough hours watching videos etc-i suppose i would prefer the data side of things.dont get me wrong having studied a race i will often luk at timeform comments for each horse on atr or the spotlight comments on pp website.would hope that i dont let them sway me but i probably do on occasion.for a purely data based service what would you advise?as for the maths side of things i certainky look for value in races and for little nuggets that have been missed in general which may lead to some value being found
