All the momentum for Djakadam. Come on Cue Card

2nd Apple’s Jade (-7lb) (1.25L). 1st Gr1 Mares’ Hurdle.
3rd Footpad (7.25L). 4th Champion Hurdle.
4th Let’s Dance (-7lb) (16L?). 1st Gr2 Mares’ Novice Hurdle.Unless something is horribly wrong, this horse is about 1 1/2 stone well-in.
He hasn’t come close to a victory in his 7 races after the Trimuph last year. Seems to me like he didn’t make any progress.

Great race by Lil Rockefeller! Was all over him, still a nice profit, but it would have been massive had he jumped the last a bit faster.
Class display by Un des Sceaux

Yorkhill – Death Duty – Djakadam 60/1Well, my biggest ante post bet so far was Cue Card to win the Gold Cup – without Thistlecrack 7/1. Basically it does not really changes anything, but the punt was made at the time that Cue Card was about 20/1.
It would be great to see Cue Card win, and certainly not only because of the betting. It would be a real fairy tale to see him win the biggest one of all seven years after winning the bumper.
Anibale Fly again disappointing in the Ten Up Novice Chase, which was a ridiculous race. Terrible judgement by the other jockeys.
Identity Thief out of todays race at Navan and possibly also out for Cheltenham.
Yorkhill couldn’t have had a more ideal passage in the Neptune.
Not only was Yanworth given a terrible ride in the Neptune but, as has been mentioned many times before, King’s stable was in shockingly bad form last March.
There seems to be a lot of anti-Yanworth feeling in this thread, which surprises me. He would be unbeaten over hurdles but for Geraghty’s ineptitude and the stable being under a cloud at last year’s festival; maybe he doesn’t do enough to wow some onlookers, I suppose.

Sorry, buddy, but you’re severely confused if you think Geraghty lost the race.
You could switch Yanworth and Yorkhill’s positions in that race and the result would be identical. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that Yorkhill would have beaten Yanworth by further.
Allow me to direct you to a point of the Neptune, which is a key part of the race as it effectively decided who won. Unfortunately the 2016 Neptune’s not on YouTube, as the guys in charge of RUK do their very best to keep profits down by failing to attract new fans of the sport by putting out replays of races that happened nearly a year ago.
Anyway, some of you will remember that Yorkhill had to go for a gap up the inside, just before turning for home. He had to go for that gap because he was racing on the inside.
You know what would have happened if Yanworth had been in that position? He’d have been f****d. No way does he possess anything like the speed or turn of foot of Yorkhill. If Yorkhill had been on the outside and Yanworth on the inside, and Geraghty had run straight into a wall of horses because he failed to get that inside gap (1.01 that would have happened IMO), Yorkhill would have won by further and people would be slagging off Geraghty all the same and saying he should have gone round the outside.
So no, Geraghty did not lose that race – Yorkhill’s participation lost Yanworth the race.

Itsafreebee really didn’t help Yanworth either by swinging out that far at the final turn.
