Not normally known for hyperbole – makes a change from the Ballydoyle hype machine
To be fair if the 2 train together he has a better position to judge than us
The fact that he owns both may have a factor.
Best
Without wishing to overly discourage fans of Little Brick it may pay to have a look at M Pipe’s record in the NH Chase as it is nothing short of disastrous
Best Regards
Agreed
A tremendous piece from a genuine talent . A piece that did not fail to move and for me absolved previous self-indulgent pieces.
Many in racing wish you the best in what will be a difficult journey and I look forward to shaking your hand at the Festival

This will be Festival number 12 – went for the GC in ’95 and not missed a day since bar Foot and Mouth and before I am mocked for being an old codger I just turned 35 (which maybe does make me an old codger)
I live in Singapore and will be arriving to UK on the Friday morning then weekend home in Ireland and fly into Bristol with the younger brother (5 years younger Festival number 7 for him )on the Monday – we stay in Montpellier every Nov and March.
There is no doubt in my mind that Tuesday is the best day (even with the x country and the fred winter) –
The expectation and the hype on the Monday night makes it for me the best social evening of the week and a great chance to hook up with old friends that you see once or twice a year.If you have the option to come on the Monday night it is cheaper on the train and the revelry and debate more civilised than later in the week.
Salselon – I just did the research for a mate and there is a non-stop train out of Paddington leaving at 07.48 arriving at 10.03 for 38 pounds you will beat the crowds and you will get a bus to the track in comfort – alternatively get a taxi to the Beehive in Montpellier and I will buy you a pint – they lay on a free bus to the track from the pub and we get to the track for 11.30 well ahead of the opener at 2.
As regards the enclosure debate I am and have been a member for some time nontheless I am not convinced there is a tremendous amount of value between Tatts and Club – it really depends on what you tend to do at a racemeeting.
Personally at Cheltenham (as some of the members on here would attest) prefer to spend a lot of my at the Jameson bar – wandering up and down the hill to the parade ring and then on to the lawn to watch the race – repeat 24 times over the four days and then go home.
I guess its an each to their own debate – as far as the question Sir Harry lewis asked on another thread 50k people a day is just about manageable on Tue Wed – but the crowds on the Friday have to be seen to be believed and is easily now my least favourite day
Can’t wait lads keep up the banter

Cork All Star – 6/1 for the Bumper

People obviously care about this rivalry as it has given rise to quite rediculous comments such as pathetic and the quite unbelievable word terrorist.
The thinly veiled racism of Mortisha’s "thick Paddy" anecdotes I also find more than mildly disturbing.
I am an Irishman who has not missed a Festival since ’95 and has been a member since ’99. I have also been a marketing consultant to the racecourse.
What people are failing to realise is that the unique and friendly rivalry that exists between the Irish and English runs to the core of the success of the Festival.
Can you possibly appreciate how different the meeting would be minus the Irish horses and their fans. Further, are people any less passionate about horses from the North, the West Country or Lambourn?
I very much doubt it
I agree that the flag waving can be a bit much …..but also understand that for some they feel that they want to celebrate the victory and couch it in patriotic terms "they have won one for the Irish team" as such and that is their prerogative.
As it is equally the prerogative of any other nation at Cheltenham as is their want.
Maybe its not simply the flag waving of itself that you Anglo-Saxons find annoying but rather its growing repetition?

I find some of your comments nothing short of scandalous.
I would also like to throw my hat in the ring in terms of hosting the site with members monitoring.

Hi there
I am so desperately sad to hear this terrible news, I was lucky enought to meet Craig on a few occasions and he was a hugely charming knowledgable fella.
I am so very sorry for you and young family LRM but be safe in the knowledge that Craig as evidenced by the posts here touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten
