I agree Cormack, any trouble that was going he managed to find.
I think Bonfire has a big future and might get the chance to win his group 1 at Chantilly in June.
Masterly ride by Frankie there.
My lad gave me a good run for my money and at one stage I was gettting excited…close but no cigar, particularly as I backed him with a bookie only paying first 4.
Well Parish Hall is no left field pick now!
Really impressed with him today. He’ll be even better over 10 and 12 furlongs next season.
Reckon he’ll have a crack at the Guineas first though.

Be careful when researching previous runnings of this race on the Racing Post website. They have changed the draw details to match the new draw set up. For instance; Miss Fara won from stall 36 of 36, RP now have her winning from 1. Landing Light won from stall 36 of 36, RP now have him winning from 1.
Just looking at the result from last year. 5 of the first 7 had the comments held up, behind or in rear. Yet the draw is a powerful trend, too powerful to be put down as a coincidence.
This is probably me being pig headed but I am going to still back Rainforest Magic despite his poor draw. I just think he may have enough in hand to overcome his draw.
His price is drifting now, he’s 18s with Corals, so it’s just as well I didn’t back him ante post. I reckon I might get 20s tomorrow.
Moehat, it’ll be done by about 11.30am.
Please let me know who you have top rated.
Yes Grimes, he was a very expensive purchase. Loads of stamina in his pedigree. Given his purchase price as a yearling they must have had very high hopes for this fella.
I’m hoping/guessing that he is a late maturing type for who "the penny has just dropped". If I’m right then a rating of 87 is unlikely to be the limit of his ability.
Haven’t backed him yet as I haven’t heard or read that he is a definite starter. However, will find out tomorrow at the final decs.
Seems I was wrong about Camelot being out for the season, he’s been left in the Racing Post. Really looking forward to seeing him run again.
Camelot’s setback is reported as him having a temperature rather than being an injury. Won’t see him now until the spring.
One from left field that we have see him a fair bit of already is Parish Hall. This one is bred for middle distances being by Teofilo out of a Montjeu mare but has done really well running over inadequate trips this summer.
He is entered up for the Dewhurst on Saturday a race Bolger has won 3 times in the last few years. If it was over a mile I’d be confident. However, the up hill finish will be all in his favour.
I think he’ll come into his own next season over 12 furlongs. He appears to be Jim Bolger’s best prospective middle distance colt for next season, and given his sire is Teofilo who Bolger will naturally look to promote then I guess that he will be given at the very least a chance in one of the trials. Unless he wins the Dewhurst of course.
As I said, a left field pick.
Just the one running for me – Hiruno D’Amour. Good draw, excellent prep race and appears to be a genuine group/grade 1 horse. You can guarantee he has had a meticulous preparation, and trainer very bullish.
Fairly average ride from Johnny Murtagh there.
I still believe the 2nd is a Group 1 horse and well worth following as a 3 year old.
As soon as I hear that he is definately coming over for this then I will be having a very large punt (for me) on Rainforest Magic.
Was very, very impressed with his two successes at the Galway Festival this summer. Looks like he has improved significantly over the past 12 months.
In hindsight, a daft post above.
Cannot see Godolphin taking on Frankel with Casamento again over a mile.
Anyone think Sheikh Mo will risk one of his decent 3 year olds; French Navy, Dubai Prince or Casamento in this now that they have all made successful comebacks ?
If he did I suspect it would be French Navy as he is furthest forward in his rehabilitation.
Not many Arcs in the past 20 years that Sheikh Mo hasn’t had a runner representing him.
Maybe;
Dubai Prince – Champion Stakes
Casamento – QE II
French Navy – ArcExcellent debut from Born to Sea, last to first and did it easily. A lot to look forward to there.
I too was impressed with Imperial Monarch, a very nice debut. He’s got a lovely middle distance pedigree.
Interesting Oxx is starting Born to Sea in a Listed race rather than a maiden. What does this tell us ?
My opinion of John Oxx is a conservative, patient individual who gives his two years olds plenty of time.
Putting this lad straight into a listed race would seem to go against the grain for him.
I shall definately be backing this lad tomorrow.
