once again, a great race to watch for every national hunt fan!! i was on mr big, but he never had any chance of making the frame, but most important of course, that all have come back in one piece( at least, i hope so..).

I know this is the dreaded ‘aftertiming’ but I backed Golden Kite, Agus a Vic, Duers and Royal Blood in the end. A much needed confidence boost pour moi on a race that completely did my head in. Was looking for ew place value and struck lucky.

hi moehat!well done for having the winner :) !i was on agus a vic, but he never had any chance from out the back…

all in all, i am in common with you, but for IC, why shouldnt he act on the course? ability-wise, its worth a try, i think..my problem is rather, which of my 2 fav horses i should bet? IC od deep purple? i think, i will decide shortly before the race..

not too bad, mal. they were all not far away. i had two winners today, on with hayley turner at lingfield, and cartier opera for venetia williams with aidan coleman at towcester..so, all in all, not a bad day for me.

Have Hayley Turner posters replaced the Andy Thornton ones in your bedroom…not to mention keyrings, cups, t-shirts, hats and video footage?

He can’t be that big a fan if he thinks today is her first day back!

sorry roseblossom, it was ab bit confusing, the way i wrote it. i knew, it wasnt her first day back, i just wanted to know, if its her first day WITH A WINNER since her break. apologise for any misunderstanding… :D

IMO, crackdwon has a big chance now in the first at newmarket. the best piece of form is surely his deat-heating with firebet, who won so well yesterday.

Possol impressed me and as a 6 year old he looks a decent prospect. He jumped well all the way, cruised up to the leaders four out and went away down the straight.

Ollie Magern jumped nicely in front and saw off the rest of the field but he didn’t have enough to hold Possol. It could be that the years are catching up with him.

It was a pity Money Trix didn’t run, though I suspect the jumping of the first two may have been too sharp for him.

It was enjoyable day’s racing with the regrettable exception of O’Maley’s accident which is covered in another thread. I don’t think the water jump adds anything to chasing and there is always a risk of this sort of injury. We could easily have seen the same thing happen in the hunters’ chase.

For the second time this spring Cantgeton had a race ‘fall into his lap’, and contrary Ormello got outpaced to three out and then stayed on again as at Ayr.

Most importantly the Perth fish and chips are as good as ever!

yes, it was a really nice race yesterday. i hoped that my old friend olli would make it, but maybe it is a combination of his age, wetherby "love affair", and a long season. but the winner was very impressive. to be honest, i did not know too much about him, but there are surely races to be won with him in the future..the other ones that impressed me a lot were zemsky and cantgeton. i remember having a bet on cantgeton earlier in the season, but to no avail. maybe, you have to catch a good day with some horses…
