with the weather like it is, although somewhat snowy in parts, its still surely got to come up as goodish ground hasnt it?

This has to play into Kauto’s hands as on that sort of ground, hes unstoppable at Kempton.

Gonna be a great late xmas present if he comes home. Cant wait. So much so ive named by new dog after him! only the middle name mind!

It was very surprising that Denman was 2 to 1 on in running. Perhaps punters were misled by Jim McGrath and Mick Fitzgerald, who were talking about how well the horse was travelling just as Sam Thomas started niggling.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I thought, ‘are they watching the same race?!’

Do you know what the reason is for Aintree being so close to Cheltenham? I know its been asked before but another week or 2 apart would make all the difference and just think today, Denman and Exotic could have paid the price..

Cant blame the jockey for this im afraid. Yes Ruby is better than Sam but Denman just isnt the same as he used to be and i dont think having ruby onboard today would of made a slight bit of difference.

Duke of Marmalade was retired to stud after the breeders. Soldier of Fortune is to be kept in training. In a way, suprised they are not keeping DOM in training as other than SOF, they dont have any decent middle distance horses. And i would hardly think he would be that much of a huge asset to have as a stallion looking at the others coolmore have.

You really don’t have a clue.

Steady on. All about oppinions mate.

Henry and the Duke both running, very interesting

Very suprised both are running. Which one will be the pick of Murtagh? Both had long seasons and probably their last races before retirement. I would personally favour the Duke. Has the speed of a miler and has won over 12f which would suit the strong pace we are likely to see. 10f his optimum aswell. Just a question of whether he handles the track. I think out of the two, HTN will like this track as it will be firm. Perfect for him. Just think he is out of form at the moment.

Bookies have given her a quote of 2/1 for next years Arc. Hope she stays in training. Would be great to see her at the Breeders too.

What happend with the Duke though. Disapointing performance. long season catching up with him i guess. Wonder if he will still go to the Breeders?

Would ground forcast as good to soft with more rain expected be in favour of DoM? AoB has stated all along its ground dependent with him running. if the forcast rain does come, do you think the Duke will run?

I’d agree with the Bridagier on this, and personally i always prefer the horses who are not so ground dependant when there is a doubt.

Andy – The Breeders Mile is a turf race.

Really? I thought it was on the same surface as the Classic. Well there you go! Still, nice weather over there should make it an ideal surface for HTN either way you would hope.

So how do you think HTN will go on the polytrack in the breeders cup mile? Surely he would be in his element here?

Thouraghly agree about DoM going for the Classic. Think he would be perfectly suited for it instead of Henry. He has the speed of a miler and the stamina for 1m4f….surely the perfect combo???

The International is now at Newmarket on Saturday. Will DoM and NA run? The going is supposed to be good, well, it was earlier in the week anyway. Should be ideal ground though for both. Really hope they both run.

If New Approach dosnt run, The Duke will win this in a canter and go off a very very short price as i cant see anything else that will challenge him. Just hope NA runs to give the race a bit of spice.
