"Slow down, you are going too fast, got to make the morning last".Yes it was early morning when I replied to you.Like 4am. That explains me. How about you? So that is her "pet" distance.Let the challengers take her on at HER "pet" distance.How about that? I guess I am just so proud of her I get carried away.But for the record it is big news here when the fillies take on the colts.Also the last time I saw a horse like her its name was Dawn Run.She won the Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle.She too had that same arrogant air.Just loved it,I did.

That is a list of undefeated horses not all time greats. I’m sorry Mrs W but we clearly disagree when it comes to your comment "Going 15 for 15 at a G1 level, no matter who she has beaten, is to me more impressive than going 7 for 7". To me quantity will never surpass quality as a benchmark.
On the subject of another high class racemare, downunder wonder Sunline at least faced males many times in four countries over distances from 6f ( 1200m ) to 10f ( 2000m ). No one dimensional wonder there. Raced until she was seven. Perhaps 2 races in mares class after her 3yo career ( both Gr1 wins ). She never dodged the opposition male or female.
All three were good for the sport. I simply rate Zarkava as the best. I’m sure others disagree.

All of the horses on that list, with the exception of the much-maligned Pepper’s Pride, are considered all-time greats as well. Zenyatta’s owners ran a wimpy campaign last year, and I wish she’d face tougher competition more often, but it is clear that she’s among the greatest racemares ever. You can tell just by watching her.
March 15, 2010 at 10:55 #282438First it was the artificial surface. Don’t like that. Them beaten by a stablemate. Don’t like that. By the time we get to Denver, I mean Oaklawn, Zenyatta will be in foal. To bad; after all Rachel is the horse of the year not the challenger.You set a date and you turn up.
March 15, 2010 at 11:32 #282442Where has everyone gone? as usual the opposition has declared, like "Houston we have a problem".First it was the composition , now it is something else. By the time we get to ……Zenyatta will be over the hill and in the shed.Horse of the year now wimp of the year and it’s only March.
March 17, 2010 at 04:55 #283157new video of z and LIS today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PrdLMKYi1U
gonna miss LIS.
it was nice after z won on saturday that mike smith rode her up the track for a curtain call. warning – turn down your volume first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z2LZU0boRE
i didn’t think about it at the time but it may be the last race she runs there. since the Breeders’ Cup is on dirt this year i don’t think she’ll prep for it by running in the Zenyatta Stakes, although it would have been funny to see her run in a race named after herself.

Giving her fans a few anxious moments

This video has lots of footage of people holding cameras and security guards so if you want to zoom ahead to the good parts, you see Zenyatta from 23-30 seconds and 1:07 to about 1:18. There is a nice closeup of the Zenyatta Strut from 2:18-2:30 – at this point you should TURN THE VOLUME DOWN, because the race video features a shrieking female fan very close to the microphone.

In paddock before race. Zenyatta shows up about 1:15, enters paddock and stops to strike a pose and acknowledge the applause of her fans.

Maybe Zenyatta will become like Lourdes with thousands lining up to touch her. I know she makes me feel better whenever I think of her. Of course she is already drawing thousands of pilgrims to the track whenever she appears in public. Maybe you don’t actually have to touch her, just be in her presence or make a wager on her to feel better.

Zenyatta – Cure for Autism?

She’s still some way behind Caligula’s favourite racehorse Incitatus. His owner planned to raise the stallion to the rank of Roman Consul, and made attempts to have him deified after his death.
Incitatus
is Latin for "swift" or "at full gallop".
March 26, 2010 at 09:39 #285662You’re quite the horse historian, so I guess Caligula wasn’t all bad.
I just love to watch her strut;

but some Zenyatta fans do seem to want to deify her
April 3, 2010 at 07:19 #287270Zenyatta works 6f for Apple Blossom, prepares to ship to Arkansas Tues. 4/6.
April 4, 2010 at 22:35 #287572Zenyatta, no fool she, was born on April 1. Here is a picture from her birthday party;
April 6, 2010 at 18:02 #287989Zenyatta arrived today in Hot Springs Arkansas aboard Air Horse One. After a brief stop at the airport to greet her many fans, her motorcade then proceeded to take her to Oaklawn Park where she will run in the Apple Blossom April 9.
April 6, 2010 at 18:18 #287999"A group of several hundred fans, plus representatives from local television and newspaper outlets, turned out to greet Zenyatta at the ariport. Zenyatta’s van was then given a police escort to Oaklawn."
April 6, 2010 at 20:51 #288054Zenyatta even bigger than bingo in Hot Springs –
Trucks from four Little Rock television stations followed the silver semitrailer carrying Zenyatta and several other horses on its short drive to the track. About 50 people gathered to watch her walk off the truck and into the barn, with several applauding.
"The biggest thing going in Hot Springs on a Tuesday is a bingo game," one observer said, noting the excitement her presence created.

Or maybe Zenyatta should run for President
“The last time a crowd like this turned out , it was for Air Force One,” said Oaklawn’s assistant general manager David Longinotti. “Bill Clinton came home one time and landed here. This crowd is about the same.”
April 9, 2010 at 01:12 #288751Zenyatta – how she developed her act, and now she’s taking it on the road.
