Silly post
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
January 27, 2011 at 06:35 #337863Zenyatta will be bred to Bernardini during her first year at stud.
Bernardini is the leading ‘freshman’ sire and his first crop produced two Grade / Group One winners – Biondetti and A Z Warrior.
Bernardini won six of his eight races and was Champion 3YO in 2006.

Great idea by Penny Chenery, a peoples choice award for the most popular race horse. The winner of this first award was selected by Penny Chenery, but the choice was obvious. In the future it is seems likely that horses will be nominated by a committee and the winner selected by popular vote over the internet.

Would be a good idea to do something like this in the UK as well to honor horses like Sea The Stars, Goldikova and Kauto Star and their fans.
February 7, 2011 at 00:29 #339311One of the factors in the choice of Bernardini for Zenyatta was the look of Zenyatta’s half-sister by Bernardini out of Vertigneaux (Zenyatta’s dam).

some pictures of Eblouissante, already over 16 hands and about 1 1/2 years old.

Everytime I see this thread come up and you post JH I am hoping you are going to say she’s back in training
February 7, 2011 at 21:33 #339426Good one Fist. She’s in training all right, but not for the racetrack. I hope she has some nice foals. My favorite American horse right now is Twirling Candy. I posted about him in the new forum, ‘U.S. Racing’. He’s no Zenyatta, who could be?; but he’s a very nice horse and with Zenyatta, Lookin At Lucky and Blame all retiring to breed TC is IMO the best of the older horses. Kentucky Derby is still wide open. Uncle Mo 2yo BC winner is back in training, worked 4f in 49 and change but as the time indicates is still a ways from a race. So still some horses to follow in America but racing seems a bit lifeless without Zenyatta, dancing her way to the post and closing with a rush.

Great thing about racing is you never know what’s round the corner. We had the pleasure of watching Zarkava win race after race and become one of the best fillies around for many a year…..a hard act to follow then out of the blue up popped Sea the Stars. No way could we expect that a horse could outdo both of those and up pops Frankel who might just do that.
February 8, 2011 at 15:14 #339506Is there a progression and proven connection between being a brilliant tyo and becoming a brilliant 3YO? Or is this talk like last year and St.Nicholas Abbey?
