Hi guys.
Which are your favourite jump horses ever? ? ?
Istabraq has to be up there for me, along with Best Mate.
Now a days, my favourite horse by a long, long way is My Way De Solzen.
Thanks.

Ehhh – is that why you chose Kauto Star as your username?
It’s a dead heat for me – Florida Pearl & Moscow Flyer

I wouldn’t have spotted that one.
My favourite jump horse was probably Dessie from a spectator point of view. From a punting angle, both Best Mate and Istabraq did me some very good turns come Cheltenham, so would have to be amongst my favourites.

This mare had so much heart and so glad she made it safely to retirement.

October 4, 2007 at 12:46 #117928My all-time favourite jumpers are:-
Silver Buck, Wayward Lad, Night Nurse, Sea Pigeon, See You Then and Kauto Star.
October 4, 2007 at 12:48 #117929One Man
October 4, 2007 at 12:51 #117930I have lots of favourites, tend to be horses I know(not necessarily good).
Flakey Dove, Court Shareef, King Kato, The Villager, Summit Up, Escartifigue.
Well knowns, has to be Well Chief and Beef Or Salmon.October 4, 2007 at 12:53 #117931I am going to be completly left field and go for;
Desert Orchid
October 4, 2007 at 13:00 #117932Docklands Express. Gave everything and was only beaten in the Gold Cup by Cool Ground and The Fellow. One of the greatest ever races.
October 4, 2007 at 13:14 #117935Tough one this;
Kribensis, followed by Beau Ranger, Bonanza Boy, Cyfor Malta.
Kribensis was I feel underated, and if it hadn’t been for injury could have won more than 1 Champion Hurdle.
October 4, 2007 at 13:47 #117939Flagship Uberalles before he got doggy. I still haven’t forgiven his owner Michael Krysztofiak for turning him out at both Aintree and Ayr after he was clearly over the top after the Champion Chase in the 1999/2000 season. Although he went on to win four Grade 1 chases afterwards, I don’t think he was ever the same horse after he tried to give lumps of weight to Nordance Prince in the Victor Chandler Chase.
He had more ability than his more illustrious brother and probably as much guts as he always looked as though he had some sort of physical problem.
October 4, 2007 at 14:04 #117943One Man, Suny Bay, Best Mate and Bindaree are probably my 4 favourites if i had to choose 1 it would be Bindaree purrely because of the spirit he showed beating Whats up Boys in the National.

Christ, what a difficult question to answer. My shortlist alone would run to at least fifty horses….
If I had to name just one, after much deliberation, my vote would go to Night Nurse. He was tough as teak, poetry in motion (over hurdles, at any rate!) and just a pleasure to watch. Anyone who remembers his epic defeat of Captain John in Newbury’s Mandarin Chase, towards the end of his career, will know that that race encapsulated all that made Night Nurse great.
October 4, 2007 at 14:14 #117946Bula. I got into racing watching his tremendous power packed finishes.
