Yep, on the Systems Trail again.
Any readers please feel free to stick your oar in.
OK…I need a few parameters. For better or for worse I have set a few prelimenary ones.
I’ll target only NH all aged, regular handicaps only. There must be a minimum of eight runners still in when making the selections. OK, races sorted. On to the short list.
I have to discard the many and concentrate on the few that I consider worthy contenders. I want something that has performed creditably in at least one of it’s last two races but reserve the right to ignore it’s last run. I want decent odds for my selection so I will only consider those that have a Best Odds Available price on Oddschecker of between 5/1–16/1. I shall view Oddschecker at a convenient time, but no later than 90 minutes before the first race involved.Having noted the relevant horses I need to give them some sort of order of preference.
For this I’ll use three different sets of ratings (maybe my own?) and mark them accordingly. For my purposes, the lower the mark the better the rating is. I’ll make no betting or staking recommendations other than saying why back only one in the race? I’ll post the races, horses (not more than 3 per race) & best bookies odds available. It’s almost cetain that better odds will be obtained on b/f though.
I’ll just keep a watching brief and update fairly often. That’s not to say I’ll not be backing any of them. I’ll be wary of the hurdlers too. I’ve done much better with the chases.
Comments, queries & pointers will be appreciated.
Regards,
CN.
