Is this the best shop ever?
I’ve never been in one before today…but they have got everything and all of it at half the price.
Other than food I’m not shopping anywhere else in future.
You can get a dozen toilet rolls for 64p
November 15, 2009 at 16:05 #258787I understand that it is still a family owned and run enterprise; not bad in this day and age..I bought a big day to a page diary for work last week at the amazing price of £2.48.They used to have shops just around the Leicester area but are now obviously nationwide…also very good to their staff; well worth supporting imo.
November 15, 2009 at 18:01 #258814I am a bit of a shopping snob and won’t go to places like Asda, Primark etc. because of the quality of person that shops there, but even I like Wilko’s enough to make an exception! VALUE

Probably not far off the mark!
I take it you’re an Asda man then

November 18, 2009 at 19:05 #259334Its to the chip shop for a deep fried bounty with curry sauce and double chips washed down with buckfast wine for Graeme

There is no such thing in Jockland as a "chip shop", clivexx – we only have "chippies" up here.
A "chip shop" sounds like the kind of place a dubious middle-class metrosexual from West London might frequent, after a day slumming it at the "The Bridge".
November 18, 2009 at 21:12 #259365well at least i take them home to eat rather than sling it all down round some bombsite bonfre
November 18, 2009 at 23:02 #259389The natives are calling chippies "fisheries" around where I’ve landed. Makes them sound like some sort of exotic marketplace for all things seafood. In actual fact they just sell mushy peas and mint sauce, neither of which, I suspect, was freshly caught that morning.
November 18, 2009 at 23:37 #259393Clivexx comes from England, so he is superbly placed to criticise anyone elses diet based on where they come from. I must have imagine all those fat, toothless, sweaty drunks with can of John Smiths and ‘all English breakfasts’ from a country that a Scotsman runs. Infact talk about supermarkets, where’s Cli…oopsss i mean Dale Winton ?
November 19, 2009 at 21:59 #259521I would bet that my diet is better than yours donkey. Unless you really do eat nothing but carrots
Otherwise only vegetables u see are down your local bookies
November 19, 2009 at 22:08 #259526I eat nothing but carrots so i can spot who the clowns are with my clown-o-vision. My eyes light up when you enter the scene.
Tell me why you’re always so angry Clive. Is it because you got knocked back because you were too small to be a flat jockey ?

You don’t mind sharing a forum with them, do you?

November 21, 2009 at 14:44 #259776Wilkinsons? Good value.
For fruit & veg (and much more) ALDI is streets ahead of Morrisons, Tescos and Sainsburys in price and usually just as good quality, often better. And, you get through the check-out in quicker time than the big supermarkets. Only minus is that there’s less of a choice. (Although if you like deep-fried Mars Bars, try ALDI’s Titan bars – every bit as good.)
Get the snob blinkers off some time and give ALDI a try.November 21, 2009 at 15:52 #259792Wilkinsons? Good value.
