Academy are at home today to Deveronvale. This will be more of a test for them than the previous 4 games (all of which they’ve won) as Deveronvale are also unbeaten in their two league games this season (goals for 8 against 1) and are one of the better sides. Hopefully the Harmsworth Hill will be in our favour!
Whoever wins will be top of the league tonight.

Alas, the honeymoon is over and after winning their first 4 competitive games of the season grim reality set in today.
TRF’s man at pitch-side said the game was a very physical affair, the Deveronvale lads not being fellows to shirk a tackle. Both sides ended up with ten men after Alex ‘Chopper’ Lamb, one of the Academy central defenders got his marching orders (another player that rel;ishes a hefty tackle) to be followed later by a Deveronvale player who ‘shoved the ref in the chest’.
On the positive Acadmey’s centre forward Gary ‘Chuckie’ Weir managed to find his way onto the scoresheet after recently enjoying a frustrating time of things in front of goal.
Hopefully the lads can get their chins up and bounce back.
