Well, seems like some well thought out tips here, so good luck – someone’s gotta be right!
Merry Xmas all,

December 26, 2008 at 15:32 #199219Seldom have I seen so may good bets in one weekend of racing it would be so easy to get totally carried away. I’m already way over my quota
but some nailed on to me. The likes of Market Man, Kauto Star,Neptune Collonges(Nap) ,Sizing Europe and Witchita Lineman on Sunday who hopefully will be a backable price are bets I just don’t want to miss.Pierrot Lunaire 11/2 EW and Thyne Again 4/1 EW singles an doubles looks very safe to me make up my quota for the Xmas period.
Good luck all and take it easy
December 26, 2008 at 15:36 #199221can anyone explain to me why none of the local bookies will give us a price for horses running in the Welsh National tomorrow?
December 26, 2008 at 16:41 #199243Voy Por Ustedes for me.

Could it be they think it’s too easy to spot the winner from a long way out in these staying chases?
December 26, 2008 at 20:03 #199293not when it’s me Mr Fist; the bookies are usually queuing up with their begging bowls when they see me coming!
December 26, 2008 at 22:25 #199339Lexus Chase – War Of Attrition @ 9/2
Think he may have everything go right for him this year providing Neptune sets a decent clip and doesnt let the listner dictate.

why don’t you just back Mon Mome EW? looks pretty obvious he’s improved since last deason is betteroff at the weights thanhe was last season when he finished second, he’ll still be going when most of them will be crying enough
I’m not having a big bet but worth a few quid to add to the enjoyment.December 26, 2008 at 22:47 #199348can anyone explain to me why none of the local bookies will give us a price for horses running in the Welsh National tomorrow?
Between roughly 10am and Noon the day before, bookies take down their ante-post prices, and wait for the overnight deccies, I’d have thought.

Well, at 11:00 this morning in William Hills in Leicester, I was informed that there were no early prices for the King George!!!

December 27, 2008 at 03:53 #199419I`ll take PRESSGANG in the 3.15 at Kempton, he was by far and away the best horse in his last race despite finishing 2nd (Personally i blame Timmy Murphy for the defeat as he confused the horse at the 4th last and he nearly ended on the floor),ìf i believe that then i must believe he`s on a nice mark at 125! going right handed on decent ground is what the doc ordered, nothing progressive as him in the race.
I also like Breedsbreeze in the 2nd, im sure this race will be run to suit and i would fancy him to get the better on The Market man (Henderson suggested he wouldn`t raxe until Feb!) and im not convinced Massinis maguire is has good as he looked on his chase debut, Millenium Royal from the Douman yarddoesn`t do much for me especially with useless Pieux taking the ride, the guy used to be half decent but he`s riding like a big girls blouse at the moment, he looks like he`s had one fall too many!!
Congrats, Tony.
Pressgang almost threw it away (many will say his jockey did..) and he has to be backed next time.

Getzippy,
Be interesting to see how the h`capper reacts, i`m guessing they will move him up 10lbs to 135, he`s not the easiest of horses and it will surely be an advantage to hold on to him longer, al the same i thought it was pretty conclusive the way he won!
Was certainly a good day yesterday, the two i put up here won and my only bet in Deauville bolted home, in some ways today looks even more interesting so back to work!!

Timmy himself indicated to Thommo post-race that he rode an awful race on Pressgang even in victory. Thommo, bless him, insisted on pursuing the "great ride, fella!" notwithstanding.

December 29, 2008 at 03:33 #200019Nervous times for anyone who has backed Sizing Europe antepost for tomorrow-there is a doubt about him running.
December 31, 2008 at 04:45 #200539Luke – Nervous times have been replaced by bitterly disappointed.
Still a Sizing Europe fan…but questioning my loyalty.
Jeremy – re Thomo and "great ride…" spot on

That presenter is so desperate for a talk show aimed at the blue rinse brigrade he’d sell his soul to Labour!
