What Happened To SBD’s?

Have our diets improved or has the beer changed? I can remember the days when it wasn’t a good night in the pub if somebody did not “put one down”.

Much merriment was had by the clientele in the pub, blaming each other while the perpetrator quietly drank his beer behind a secret smile.

Coach trips to Newmarket races were another occasion when you could be sure there would be a significant change in the atmosphere on the way home, usually by the time we reached Six Mile Bottom.

As Chezza is sure you know, Purwell, sir, Chezza is a big fan of your good self.

But there’s no escaping the fact you and Chezza lead very different lives.

Chezza’s actually careful with diet to the point of paranoia, doesn’t drink beer or any alcohol and never goes in pubs, still less on pub outings.

Chezza has no actual idea what an “SBD” is, but has decided it probably stands for “Superior Biscuit Development.”
