Many of the comment lines in the results charts are cryptic. Anyone have any idea of what s.i.s means? I assume stood up in saddle. Also "n.m.r". inside final furong. Also "sn" ridden. I don’t have much of a clue on those. Any help would be appreciated. Or, anybody know where I could look those terms up?
October 22, 2008 at 02:01 #185785NMR = not much room
October 22, 2008 at 02:04 #185786S.i.s is slowly into stride.
October 22, 2008 at 02:10 #185788sn ridden = soon ridden
October 22, 2008 at 02:19 #185794tkh = took keen hold
tde = taken down early
rfo = rider fell off
swtg = sweating
lw = looked well
ww = waited with…and so it goes on. There’s definitely a complete list in each year’s edition of Hunter Chasers and Point to Pointers, and almost certainly one in the Raceform / Chaseform annuals.

Lol rider fell off always seems a bit comically harsh.

cmit – Is that reserved for Jamie Spencer?
Here’s another : jbmnttwr – jockey barely moved, not trying to win race = McCoy on Straw Bear at Exeter.

Last race before his balls come off to go hurdling.

Finished last before a typical Barney Curley coup is landed at Wolverhampton on a Monday
October 22, 2008 at 03:26 #185811By the way before anyone moans my McCoy comment above is tongue in cheek. Whilst I question just how much effort McCoy made to win that race I’d never accuse him of deliberately not trying to win at all.

It’s just about the harshest one in regular use, yes!
Until the day the powers that be let us use pbi (pasted by idiot), that is.

October 22, 2008 at 14:52 #185847xb (cross noseband) and 2hp (two handlers in paddock) can be a sign of a tearaway, who could then pgd (pulled going down to start). Yankee Holiday regularly shows all three.
I have this unfortunate tendency to make up new abbreviations oth (on the hoof!), which is fine until you get home and can’t decipher the damned thing.
