    Twice Over
You get the full form of any horse for the whole of its career.
Results are accompanied by in running comments and an analysis by their race readers if you want that kind of thing.
Career stats are there also with runs wins and places on ground trip course etc.
There are limitations such as no indication of how the form of a particular race has worked out so you need to keep clicking on every horse name in a particular result to see how they have run since.
Also no collateral form tool which they keep promising.

I’ve got used to it but only subscribe to the essential service as the top price membership is little more than a tipping service.

Try it for a month and then decide.

Thanks for the reply. The ultimate subscription has provides a copy of the newspaper. You reckon it is worth having that considering many good articles are all ready view able on the site. Not sure I am fussed with the opinions of Richard Hughes or even some of the tipsters. Be nice to have it, but, price of it.. hmm. Might heed your suggestion about just getting the essential

Personally, I thought that the old version was fine, got me all that I needed, would tend to click individually on the other horses in the race anyway. (time consuming) . At The Races Website has a bit where you can just hover over and get an idea of next time winners, but that site is all over the place in some respects.

Where are the relevant stats on the new cards ? Will they be for subscribers only ?

I prefer the old version. Found it a lot easier to navigate. Oh well I’ll just have to get used to it.
Wasn’t there a saying if it’s not broke?

On the old RP website, I could view my ratings on the result pages, on the new website you had to click on “my ratings” to view something that looked like a bad version of notepad.

I sent the RP two screen shots of the problem I would be having, and they have told me that my ratings feature will be added.

In fairness to the Racing Post they are responding to feedback and somewhat open to tweaks as they fine tune the new site. Here is their reply to my feedback which I posted earlier in this thread (dialogue is continuing!):

    Homepage and News

The additional news content on the new site is full publishing of the daily newspaper onto the website. When considering that the daily newspaper costs £2.30 midweek and £2.60 on a weekend, in addition to the fact that Epaper and iPad edition subscribers are paying £30 a month upwards to access the daily edition in a digital format, the decision was made to add this content to the Ultimate (£26 per month) package only. We have, however, as a gesture of goodwill upgraded to your account to the Ultimate package for the month of December, so that you can trial the additional data available to those subscribing to the Ultimate package without any additional charge.

The Going and Non-Runners page overview is still in development but will be complete for when we go fully live with the site.

    Sizing – Statistics/Results/Trainer/Horse profiles

We appreciate this feedback on the size of all the content and fonts on the pages and do acknowledge that this now means less lines of data above the ‘fold’ in one view and we will continue to monitor feedback.

Again, we’ll monitor the response on the second tab containing Analysis on results. Some users are saying they prefer this here to scrolling to the bottom of the result, and it tested well, but we’ll monitor feedback.

    Cards

The hover over function remains in development, but will be available when the site is fully launched.

Latest shows/price history can be switched on in Settings, it then appears on the card next to the runner.

Your settings should definitely be saved – Should this problem have persisted, please let us know what browser/device you are using and we’ll investigate further.

    Jockey’s record

Last 5-seasons is available in the filter. If you click on Stats and then select what you want to filter, if you then choose time period you will have the option of 5 years. However we are making a design change here to make this more intuitive and also to reintroduce last five years to the top level on trainer, jockey and owner profiles.

    Horse’s form

Lifetime record ordering in the table – it was felt by the RP team that ordering by most runs per race type was a better experience and more useful, but if this is raised repeatedly we will review.

Quotes tab and clicking should match the offering on the current site – If you are finding that this continues to open slower that on the ‘old’ site, we would be grateful if you could advise accordingly.

Colour coding – This has been looked at, but it can present a design nightmare using a rainbow of colours making it hard to then digest the content. It is, however, something we are still considering.

X number of days since ran – this is also on the backlog as identifying what the X number of days should be before the absence is flagged is quite subjective. Do you have a view on this?

    Hi
To me this is just an excuse to raise the price and try to force everyone into the ultimate version at the same time. Personally essential suits me fine I have no interest in the RP tipsters/Pricewise and it’s a vast saving on the newspaper price. No one mentioned that the form does not currently show the type of race that it represents ie chase, hurdle etc. This is supposed to be coming but it would seem to me that it should have been a starting point

Oh…… just opened the RP site and it’s gone back to the old one after a couple of weeks of the new one

I used the same link as always but the only thing I’d done in the interim is downloaded Malwarebytes and done a scan ……..not sure if that would cause it to revert to the old site

    It’s like seeing an old friend………. :-)

Must admit that I’m getting lost on the new site having discovered the PRO card and the PDF form downloads and horse profiles. I’m getting information overload but it’s difficult not to look at everything if you know it’s there

Today I cannot get on to the old Racing post website, unfortunately only the new beta site seems available. Could someone kindly let me know how to get to the formerly available ‘Print Out’ and ‘Course Info’ sections.

To get to the old site I just type in racing results bloodstock on Google and I’m in.
Don’t like the new site and feel that options will be taken away from users who continue to use the old site to force them to subscribe. Jac

Thank you Jac, managed to get to the old site via your ‘google’. Just hope it lasts a while as cannot take to the new site.

Can’t say I like it much either. Another thing that annoys me at the moment is when I use my link to go to the results page (old style link) it takes me to the new style racing cards page and not directly to the results. So another click involved.

I only use the site for news, results and to check what time the racing that day starts so updating the site won’t do anything to improve that for me that I can see. And I hate this growing need to have everything as a video. I’ve pretty much given up on Eurosport because of that. I don’t want to watch a video, I want to read what I’m looking for.

I have bookmarks set up for both the old and new sites. Increasingly I’m being taken to the new site from the old site bookmark and even from the old site going/NRs page. However, persistence will always enable me to find the old site.

The new site is gradually beginning to look a bit better and shaping as if it could be usable to work from. Most of the complaints featuring in my correspondence with the RP (copy/pasted earlier in this thread) have been addressed. Particularly the sizing of a horse’s lifetime runs page and jockey’s record over last 5 years. It’s nice to see race distances in miles & furlongs instead of just furlongs.

The new site is still a little busy and has minor annoyances – I’m happy with essential rather than ultimate membership but the badge indicating a news story I can’t see is not always distinctive enough – but hopefully these will be eradicated too.

    Glad it helped Tim :good:
Let’s hope they don’t revamp the bloodstock page and redirect us back to the old site. I’ll keep on using that as a route to racecards, form and results as long as I can.

Don’t like this new format at all, just filled in their survey to let them know of the regression and yet again if it ain’t broke ?
They have stuffed too much content from the outset to navigate where once was simple, not impressed.
