-27August 18, 2026 at 07:33 #17735396/5 for Hednesford to defeat Southport would be my recommended bet.
Hednesford were well touted before the season. It hasn’t gone their way with two defeats but they scored 3 against Scarborough on Saturday.
Southport were poor in our opening match against Hebburn. We were OK against Buxton on Saturday but nothing more. Our goal was lucky (it was an intended cross). After that we only created one decent chance. Then once Lloyd got sent off, it was a case of trying to defend a 1-0 lead for half an hour. It was inevitable Buxton would equalise.
I can’t see us going to Hednesford and getting anything. They will be eager to get their first win and I think they will have far too much for our shaky looking defence. If it wasn’t for Sol Honor, the young goalkeeper we have on loan from Manchester United, we would have lost on Saturday.
August 20, 2026 at 18:23 #1773834How did the Sandgrounders manage a draw there CAS..talk about Fergie time!!

Cobbs new boss Hogg could be going the same way after the embaressement of loosing to Brighton’s kids team on Tuesday.

Ongoing -36August 20, 2026 at 19:12 #1773851I know! I was listening to the online commentary. No sooner had the two lads said it was a poor performance and we needed a miracle, we all of a sudden got one back and then got an equaliser as well!
Looking at the highlights later, I think the Hednesford defenders were terrified to challenge Solomon when it was 2-1 and give away a penalty. Good on him for taking his chance.
I hope we can beat Bedford on Saturday but it won’t be a pushover. They beat Buxton on Tuesday and might be a decent side this year.
I am not surprised to see Radcliffe and Marine on zero points. I think they will both be relegated.
Chester have made a good start. It looks to me like they have bet the house on getting promoted this season and I believe they will.
August 20, 2026 at 19:26 #1773864I agree about Marine, and I think Morcombe might collapse looking at their start.
Im not sure what the Chester budget is, and hope they go up, always enjoyed a trip there with the Cobbs.August 24, 2026 at 18:21 #1774300Souyhport 4 Bedford 1.
It was good to watch a comfortable win on Saturday. I suspect it was a case of a mid table team beating a side that will be battling to avoid relegation (forget what I said earlier about Bedford, they were poor and gifted us our first two goals).
Of course, as soon as I talked down Radcliffe and Marine they both won! Radcliffe defeating beleagured Morecambe, now bottom of the league. How long before Jim Bentley gets made manager again?
A disappointing result for Brackley but I think they will be OK.
August 24, 2026 at 18:26 #1774301My local non league team South Liverpool beat Longridge Town 3-2 on Saturday in the Final Preliminary Round for the FA Cup. Their first and last goals were scored by Jack Bentley, Jim’s son.
It means South Liverpool are in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the first time since 1990. Back in their days in the old Northern Premier League, just before they went bust and Holly Park became dilapidated.
I am so pleased for the small group of volunteers who have worked so hard to keep the club alive. Their reward is a home tie against Prestwich Heys, a team they have to play in the league only ten days later. A good chance to get to the next round, when the NLN and NLS teams all join the competition.
August 27, 2026 at 13:32 #1774457Banbury V Stourbridge 8/5 H 23/10 D 11/8 A
Stourbridge unbeaten so far, Banbury have lost the last two.
Brackley V South Shields 3/1 H 5/2 D 8/11 A
Brackley have started very poorly, and received two red cards in the last fixture. South Shields should take advantage and pop a few goals in.
Gillingham V Cobbs 8/5 H 12/5 D 13/8 A
I do believe Cobbs have been unlucky so far this season and Gillingham have a few injuries.Treble

August 29, 2026 at 17:27 #1774588(Expletive deleted) Chester! At least the stake was refunded.
And Hebburn landed the 6/4.
August 30, 2026 at 21:39 #1774636Hereford V Chester, OMG CAS, thats Wales V England always been a troublesome one that. A day out for the Chester boys to play with the sheep, yes I do know geography
Unlucky though.August 30, 2026 at 22:00 #1774638From Saturdays bets, 0.5 was returned as Brackley’s match was abandoned. Probably best while Whig is still in charge, his win ratio should help him get the boot soon.
-44.5Busy week ahead with three matches,
Chorley V Brackley – Monday
Cobbs V Crawley – Tuesday
Anstey Nomads V Banbury – MondayMain focus is on Cobbs Tuesday so the others are included in the regular correct score PAT.
Chorley 3-1 14s
Cobbs 4-1 28s
Banbury 1-2 11s
-3.5During the summer Cobbs signed a full back from Donny on a free, he’s played well in the few matches so far and had a few shots per game. Hitting the post twice, suggests to me hes worth a couple of bets.
Maxwell first goal 1 @ 33
Maxwell Anytime 2 @14s
The team Captain, Guthrie is due a goal so hes also included.
Anytime 2@ 17/2-5
ongoing -53.The only plus at present, is my 5 @16s for Cobbs to finish in the bottom 2 is now showing a cash out of 5.20. I think Ill let it run for now.
August 30, 2026 at 23:12 #1774642I believe Chester had a shot just over the bar in the final minutes.
The less said about Southport’s performance the better. Danns looked in a state of shock in his post match interview.
I hope he gets a reaction out of them tomorrow. It will be needed because Hereford will not be easy. 13/8 could be big about them.
At least Brackley go into tomorrow’s game fairly fresh. I don’t know what to make of Chorley. They had a fairly poor season last time but they are capable if in the mood.
